3 NATIONAL PARKS OUR FAMILY’S VACATION OF A LIFETIME
Our family loves the great outdoors, so when Karisa’s mom invited us, along with Karisa’s siblings and all the grandkids, to stay at a vacation rental in St. George and visit Zion National Park, we found it hard to resist. Over the course of four days, we saw what must be, in my opinion, some of the most beautiful places God
The next day, we moved our party to Zion National Park. There’s a little more greenery here than at Bryce Canyon, which gives the landscape a more colorful look. We hiked to some beautiful waterfalls on the first day, but it was the second day when we
saw the group’s favorite attraction: the Narrows. These are the slim canyons where a small river runs almost wall to wall. The weather was cool, and the hike was incredible. National Geographic listed the Narrows as the No. 5 Best
Adventure in America, and we can see why.
created. Our kids got caught up in the majesty and grandeur of God’s creation, and there were many moments where our mouths dropped in awe of what we were seeing. Karisa’s sister, Erin, made a scouting trip to the area in March, and had the trip mapped out to maximize our time and accommodate the 16 of us, including nine kids under the age of 13. Erin is working towards her goal of visiting all 59 national parks in the U.S., which is what started the idea of a trip to Zion.
On Thursday, our family checked America’s most famous national park off the list: the Grand Canyon. No one in our family had seen it, and even though we saw the
less-traversed Northern Rim, we all agreed the canyon has earned its name. The Grand Canyon is over a mile deep in some spots and up to 18 miles wide. After spending another day in Las Vegas (swimming at the hotel pool again, seeing the fountains at the Bellagio, and the fire show at the Mirage), we went home worn out, though we were buoyed by the memories of the natural beauty we had seen as a family. Most of all, we arrived grateful to God for creating such a world and with a refreshed appreciation of our wide-open spaces and big blue skies of the great plains. It was the trip of a lifetime. Of course, we’re already thinking about what national park we’d like to hit next. What do you recommend? Feel free to tell us your favorite — or about any trip you took with your family this month — when you come into the office!
We flew into Las Vegas — it was 112 degrees when we arrived, a big change from the 70 degrees we left in San Diego. The kids were excited to head to the hotel swimming pool after a stop at In-N-Out Burger. Swimming is always the kids’ favorite part of every vacation.
The next morning, we drove to Bryce Canyon National Park early enough to beat the heat (we ended up having record-breaking temps the entire time!) During the day, temperatures stayed in the triple digits. Luckily we found shade from the hot sun along the beautiful canyon trails. The gorgeous bluffs and expansive sunset- colored vistas blew us away.
Happy trails!

and a pretty steep bill, and that’s just to get tested. Now, thanks to state-of-the-art technology, we can determine how your respiratory system functions while you sleep in the comfort of your own home. In order to determine if you suffer from sleep apnea, you obviously have to be tested while you’re asleep. This normally means spending an expensive night in a hospital, where doctors hook you up to machines that monitor your breathing. We now offer a noninvasive test, often covered by medical insurance, where you take home a simple compact monitoring system that will monitor your breathing, sleep position, and oxygen levels among other important >Page 1 Page 2 Page 3 Page 4
