WHAT OUR STUDENTS SAY
“...the IDP MFA creates a sheltered space where real, daring quandaries can develop in the amorphous in between spaces... Does an interdisciplinary approach help a dancer become a better dancer? Maybe. Does it change the way he sees the world? Definitely...” (Sean Knapp, IDP MFA, 2017, "Sonata 9")
"...completion...allowed me to develop and implement an invaluable Research-Based Creative Process for production of interdisciplinary performance works based on the history and culture that connect New Orleans and Haiti.” (Monique Moss, IDP MFA, 2012, "Rumours of War")
EDUCATIONAL FRAMEWORK FOR THE MFA
"Working to achieve "simultaneous development of the ability to produce advanced research findings, often using the practices and protocols of the humanities, sciences, or social sciences, and the ability to utilize, combine or integrate these findings with practice of artistic, pedagogical or other dance and performance-related professions."
-National Association of School of Dance (NASD) Handbook 2016 -2017 page 113
