SPRING 2022

Leveraging Autonomy Wines

Gene Kelly, Senior Partner

Our Autonomy partners are leveraging their personalized Autonomy Wine to create impacting gifts, which underscores their authority and elevates their perceived position while still providing the opportunity to create social proof as demonstrated in this article. The gift and message of Autonomy Wines also deepens the attention given to the partner, as the wine will not be thrown away or lost as might happen with a brochure for business card. The deeper connectivity is extended, and the partner (Dr. Emily Letran in this case) will be fondly remembered and discussed whenever the recipient opens and shares their Autonomy Wine with the partner’s name on it. Most people drink wine to celebrate with others, and Autonomy is an extraordinary wine, so the label and the person whose name is on it will certainly be part of the discussion at dinner.

UPCOMING EVENTS

Autonomy Spring Party Saturday, June 11

Mark Victor Hansen, co-author of “Chicken Soup for the Soul.”

Very few gifts have the ability to garnish this much attention and be treasured and shared with others. The impact of this personalized wine can be very significant, helping to cement your individual name and impact on others. But of equal importance is the message of Autonomy. Sharing, championing, encouraging, and personally committing to the Autonomy LifeStyle is powerful and magnetically attractive to success and other successful people. Autonomy retails for $500 a bottle and is only available to people who have partnered with Autonomy. Adapted from the blog at DrEmilyLetran.com. Autonomy LifeStyle

The Autonomy LifeStyle is something few people think they can achieve — if they’re even autonomous enough to think about it in the first place! But autonomy is achievable, because above all it’s a choice . What you choose determines the level of autonomy that you can achieve and enjoy. I personally work in several highly regulated industries: alcohol, firearms, and education. (Yes, I am nuts !) The joke around here is that if I would just start importing cigars, I would be the “B.A.T.F.E.” (the government agency, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives). But even in these highly regulated arenas, I choose paths leading toward autonomy. I violate norms, create greater profits, and don’t budge when presented with bureaucratic b.s.! There is always an alternative path ... always a way to push through; mindset and attitude have a lot to do with it. This is closely linked to the “message to Garcia” commitment to break through and get the job done. If you don’t know the story, look it up online. The short version is that he overcame great difficulties to accomplish his mission. What does it take to stop you ?

Derek Emery , California’s Biggest Wholesale Used Car Broker (and an Autonomy Partner) with his wife Gayre next to Gene’s Hotrod “RatFink.” This too is a lifestyle statement.

“Gene,” they said, “if you can’t get in through the front door, then you go through the window. If you can’t get it through the window, you will come down the chimney! You don’t let anything stop you!” This again comes back to deciding not to be stopped. I am sure that you probably think and act the same way that I do. But you may not have declared your personal autonomy. You also may not be positioning yourself appropriately to maximize your it. Raise the flag; wear the colors. Choose to think and act with Autonomy Wines!

One of the biggest compliments that I received came from one of the Israeli security operatives that I have spent years working with.

An Autonomy Wines Partnership is all about transference of elite status as a vineyard/winery label owner from us to you! This makes you a more interesting person to your customers and clients. Gifting a bottle of “Your Wine,” is extremely impressive and powerful, as is attending events at the vineyard and using the resulting conversations and images in your marketing. Dan Kennedy states that one of the worst things you can be is boring. Even if what you sell, deliver, or provide is less than exciting, you can be interesting and intriguing! Wearing your Autonomy Wines Partner logo-wear and bringing a bottle of your personalized Autonomy wine to dinner or a party, and I guarantee that people with status will be intrigued. After all, how many people are “partners” in a vineyard and wine in the exclusive Napa Valley. I find that the name “Autonomy” alone is attention grabbing. Use the pictures that we have taken of you in the vineyard in your marketing to elevate your position and see how it magnetically attracts the right type of clients and customers. While Autonomy is your lifestyle declaration, (and you should make life decisions accordingly), Autonomy Wines is about marketing you ! MARKETING-YOU !

FEBRUARY In the Vineyard

Grapevines need to be pruned each year. Pruning enhances sunlight and airflow within the fruiting zone, which improves this year’s fruit quality and inhibits some disease. Improved light exposure also ensures that buds forming on this year’s shoots will be fruitful next year. Pruning removes dead, damaged, unfruitful, and otherwise undesirable wood — for instance, canes that are growing in the wrong direction or that crowd other canes. If you don’t prune, it won’t take long for your vines to creep into your neighbors’ trees! Late February is usually a good time to start pruning grapes because the vines are resuming active growth, as indicated by bud swell. This is appropriately termed “bud break.” The inner bud is enlarging and will soon break free from its protective bud scales.

An ideal pruning day is dry and followed by at least two days with no predicted rain. Pathogens, or disease-causing microbes, are carried by wind and rain and can enter vines through wounds left by pruning. By waiting for a dry period, you give the wounds time to heal before the next rain. If you cannot prune in late February, due to rain, it is okay to prune in early to mid- March, before the emerging shoots reach a couple of inches long. However, earlier is better to avoid inadvertent shoot breakage during pruning. *University of California Cooperative Extension — UCCE Master Gardeners of Sacramento County/ Division of Agriculture and Natural Resources “On our vineyard in Napa, bud break typically happens in early April” –Gene
