DON’T MISS YOUR CHRISTMAS GIFT! Claim a Free Copy of ‘The Tax Relief Booklet™’
As I write this, I’m looking across my desk at a big pile of books. I’ve been working my way through the stack for the last few months, inhaling business books like “Pre- Suasion” by psychologist Robert Cialdini and “How to Win Friends and Influence People” by self-improvement expert Dale Carnegie. Every time I turn a page, it’s my hope to gain more knowledge and better position myself to serve my clients while I’m representing their best interests in front of the IRS.
Now that my 2-year-old daughter, Sophia, is old enough to love bedtime stories too, I’m also writing a book for her. Stay tuned, as I’ll share more about it in a future newsletter. Books are an incredible resource. They can take us to new places and teach us secrets we’d never find anywhere else. That’s why I decided to write one for YOU as a holiday gift! It’s called “The Tax Relief Booklet™,” and in a few short chapters, it goes over five ways to pay less to the IRS — and get them to “thank you” for it!
Of course, reading isn’t always all business! I also like to read for fun.
Like my experience reading Cialdini, this is knowledge that you won’t get anywhere else. I wrote it drawing on all of my experience as a former IRS Agent and in private practice. In the booklet, I share in simple terms several highly-effective methods to resolve IRS tax debt. If you have a tax problem hanging over your head, then I promise that “ The Tax Relief Booklet™” will help you de-stress this holiday season and head into 2022 with a plan to tackle your back taxes.
Lately, I’ve been catching up on classics about Socrates – his work, life and philosophy are truly fascinating. I recommend “Conversations of Socrates,” a collection of thoughts by one of his disciples, Xenophon. Not too surprising, my kids aren’t as into Socrates as I am, so with them, I’ve been reading much lighter fare. My 5-year- old son Benjamin’s favorite book right now is “Cherries, Cherries, Everywhere!” which is actually a fun children’s book that I wrote for him and published with the help of

No Monkeying Around Helping Hands Monkey Helpers for the Win
You’ve heard of service dogs, but what about service monkeys? For many years now, capuchin monkeys have been lending helping hands to people with disabilities! Helping Hands Monkey Helpers, located at Monkey College in Boston, Massachusetts, is a nonprofit organization designed to help people with disabilities and mobility issues, such as quadriplegia, by pairing them with a monkey service animal. These simian helpers are specifically trained to help with daily tasks while providing companionship, happiness, and a renewed sense of purpose that many struggle with when navigating an injury or disability. When monkeys graduate, they will have developed the ability to navigate major household appliances and electronics as well as basic items within the home. They can even retrieve a canned beverage from the refrigerator, open it, and put a straw in it!
scratching an itch, pushing buttons on electronic devices, and performing other menial tasks within the home. Each human applicant and the capuchin monkeys undergo a pairing process to find the best fit for placement! A social worker and placement specialist work together to sift through applications and
determine which monkeys will be the right choice for the applicants based on lifestyle preferences and the tasks that will be most helpful to the person with disabilities. Plus, Helping Hands Monkey Helpers ensures that the monkeys are completely free of charge to the recipients! The human-animal bond created along the journey after placement is absolutely beautiful. Helping Hands Monkey Helpers brings love, companionship, and laughter to many who are fortunate enough to work with the organization. These monkeys are the best, hands down. And, monkeys, thank you for going to monkey college, and thank you for your service!
A service monkey can also assist with retrieving things that are dropped or out of reach, turning pages in a book,
Stay Ahead of the IRS! 4 Tax Actions to Take Before 2022
The holidays are a hectic time for all of us, but one thing you can’t afford to forget right now is your 2021 taxes – after all, time is running out. If you feel you’ve fallen behind this year or if you owe back taxes for a prior tax year, do these four things to stay ahead of IRS enforcement action. 1. Enlist professional help. If you feel your tax situation is complicated or has changed in any way, don’t hesitate to contact a licensed tax professional. Self-employed taxpayers, independent contractors, homeowners, and gig workers in particular should consider this to ensure there are no complications with the IRS. Managing current taxes and back taxes go hand-in-hand, so get help from a trusted specialist. 2. Stop procrastinating. Whether you’re starting to organize your 2021 taxes or need to resolve taxes for a prior year, don’t delay. Especially with back taxes, penalties and interest can double and even triple the
original tax amount. Taking action now is the best New Year’s resolution you can make this year.
3. Tamp down your panic. If you owe the IRS and can’t full pay, it’s essential to remain calm. Pay as much as you can now, as this will help reduce any penalties or interest you may incur. Then consider other options the IRS has for taxpayers who cannot pay their taxes in full, like payment plans and tax settlements. Our team can help you with this! 4. Learn as much as you can Although the IRS may appear intimidating at first, the agency really is a sheep in wolf’s clothing. When it comes to back taxes, the agency has to abide by a specific set of rules. And those rules force the IRS to follow pretty simple procedures when it comes to resolving a tax debt. We’ve made those procedures available to all taxpayers (for free) at LandmarkTaxGroup.com/Free If you have any questions or concerns about your taxes or you need immediate help with a back tax issue, reach out to our team today – [email protected] .

SUCCESS! WE SAVED A CLIENT FROMWAGE GARNISHMENT
The IRS has a lot of power to throw around, and one of the scariest things it can do is go after your wages. According to PR Newswire 54% of Americans live paycheck to paycheck, but that doesn’t stop the IRS from taking those hard-earned dollars. If you owe back taxes, your wages are fair game — unless you have our team on your side. Not long ago, a client of ours learned that the hard way. We’ll call her Susan. When Susan came to us, she owed $63,945 in back taxes. The IRS came down on her hard, garnishing her wages and filing a tax lien in her name. Susan was terrified about her financial future. One of her children needed medical care and she was worried she wouldn’t be able to pay the bills. But then, she enlisted our help. Right away, we took all of that stress off Susan’s shoulders! We immediately stopped the IRS’s enforcement action and convinced its Appeal Unit to remove more than $20,000 in penalties and interest from Susan’s debt. Eventually the IRS agreed to settle Susan’s back taxes for just $8,154 — a nearly 90% reduction! With her full paychecks back, Susan can finally afford to pay her child’s medical bills and maintain the lifestyle she wants. The fresh start came just in time for New Years.
If you or someone you know is facing mounting tax debt, wage garnishment, or other IRS threats, it’s not too late to get those same results and enjoy your 2022. You can get started with our free resources, including the report “10 Ways to Get IRS Penalties Removed,” at LandmarkTaxGroup.com/Free.

Why Seeing an Attorney May Be Good for You!
Consulting with an attorney when you are facing legal trouble allows you to have an advocate and expert in your corner who is fighting for you and your rights. And according to recent studies, it may be good for your health, too! According to NPR, a 2017 study of Veterans Affairs offices in Connecticut and New York found that veterans who saw clinic attorneys reported improved mental health within three months after their initial meetings. Additionally, in Colorado, a five-year survey of 69 patients from 2015 to 2020 found that patients in Medicaid programs who saw attorneys at their clinics had a decrease in the amount of physical health problems they were facing.

concerns about visitations or deportation, can cause our bodies to fail. This often leads to headaches, heartburn, a weakened immune system, insomnia, stomach problems, and more. These problems then compound into other issues, causing the body to spiral when intervention isn’t possible. However, when the source of stress is relieved, the side effects are eliminated as well. This can powerfully help people who are facing potentially life-altering legal situations. So, while your attorney may not be able to perform heart surgery or help alleviate your knee pain, their expertise may be just what you need to feel better in the long run.
This idea has led to several states permitting Medicaid patients to use some of their health care dollars toward legal clinical programs. For example, in Colorado, some chronically ill patients are struggling with immigration issues or problems as a result of losing their jobs in the COVID-19 pandemic. By consulting with lawyers — in addition to psychiatrists, social workers, and medical doctors — patients are lowering their stress levels, improving their physical well-being, and staying closer to their families. But how does this work? To answer that question, we have to examine the toll stress takes on our bodies. Constant stress, like
