My Favorite People Call Me Dad LOOKING FORWARD TO AN AMAZING FATHER’S DAY

By far, one of the most amazing experiences in my life has been celebrating Father’s Day every year for my own dad, from whom I learned so much, then celebrating (and being celebrated) on Father’s Day with my twins. The title of “Dad” is one of the most important parts of who I am. As Father’s Day is approaching, I’ve taken some time to really reflect on what being a father means to me and how I embrace it. All that I do, I do for my family. Sure, I love my career and wouldn’t change it for the world, but behind it all is my supporting, loving, and amazing family. To love and be loved in return by my kids is one of the best feelings in the world — there is nothing quite like the bond between a father and his children. I hope one day, my children will look back on all they’ve learned from me, and all of the memories we share, and smile knowing just how much love I have for them.

and just having fun. I love watching them accomplish new things and do things for the very first time. Seeing their eyes light up with excitement on holidays and trips is second to none, and each time they laugh, my heart, admittedly, melts just a bit. My children and family are my world. I love being a dad. Father’s Day is a great opportunity to shower your dad in adoration and get him a gift or two to show your appreciation — he deserves it! However, being a father myself, I know it can be tough to shop for us. Here’s a short shopping guide for all of you who may be stuck on what to get your dad this Father’s Day! Wallet I’m not sure about all dads, but many find that after much time spent in their pockets, their wallets undergo some serious wear and tear and need replacing every now and then. Sometimes, I bet that wallet even gets washed accidentally in the washing machine! Father’s Day is a great opportunity to get dad a new wallet! Bluetooth Headphones If your dad is still sporting wired headphones to the gym, to work, in the yard, and while cutting the grass, it may be time that he retires them and upgrades to Bluetooth ones! The wireless freedom is amazing. With his phone in his pocket and no wire dangling around, he will be free to enjoy all of his activities without the hassle of a wire!

All-in-One Tool Has your dad ever sent you to the garage to get a screwdriver, then a hammer, then a knife? To save dad (or you) multiple trips back and forth to the toolbox, get him just one tool that gets everything done around the house quickly and efficiently! A New Cooler Dads love coolers! Whether it’s a top-of- the-line Yeti cooler with amazing insulation, or a basic cooler that’s easy to tote around anywhere, dad is sure to love it! They’re great for the pool, beach, barbecuing, fishing, and tailgating! Grill Tools It seems that most fathers really enjoy grilling out and having barbecues in the backyard. Thus, you can never go wrong with some new grill tools for the next time he’s flipping burgers or sizzling up some yummy steaks! To all dads out there, I wish you an amazing Father’s Day! Take the day to kick back and relax with your family and kids! I know that’s what I’ll be doing!

I cherish the moments spent with my wife and kids, laughing, goofing around,

“My children and family are my world.”

Celebrating Advances in Social Media LIKE, COMMENT, AND SHARE!

Making a meal plan is a pain, but you still want to get all your necessary vitamins, minerals, and protein through everyday foods. Even if you’re not a cooking expert, you can employ a few very simple cooking hacks in the dishes you commonly prepare! You’ll be surprised how these little boosts can reap big, nutritious rewards. No. 1: Add quinoa to recipes. Want to add extra texture or color to your steamed white or brown rice? Mix it up with 1 cup of quinoa (any color) and another 2 cups of water or broth. Or, simply throw quinoa into any grain-friendly soup you’re preparing, like a simple chicken soup! Quinoa is rich in antioxidants and filled with fiber to lower cholesterol and blood sugar levels, reducing your risk of diabetes and heart disease. No. 2: Replace cream with almond, walnut, or oat milk. 3 Easy Cooking Hacks for Better Nutrition

Cream is a popular mainstay in any American kitchen, but it doesn’t have to be dairy cream. Plant- based milk and creamer (such as almond, walnut, or oat milk) are often extra rich in vitamins

and minerals and low in fat. They contain no cholesterol

and are easy on your digestive system. Because they all have slightly different flavor profiles, you can pick your favorite! Walnut milk works surprisingly well in a creamy pasta sauce. No. 3: Add frozen spinach to almost anything.

Fresh spinach quickly loses its folate, powerful vitamins, and nutritional benefits over time, but spinach, frozen at its peak freshness, saves the day. That’s why frozen spinach is actually more nutritious than most fresh spinach at the supermarket! Whether it’s for pasta, pizza, scrambled eggs, cheese dip, a smoothie, or curry, frozen spinach is more versatile than you might think. Plus, studies show spinach may have amino acids that help reduce stress and depression! (Bonus) No. 4: Add chia seeds to cold drinks, yogurt, baked desserts, and more!

It’s easy to feel guilty for indulging your cravings for sweet tea, pudding, cookies, and cake. But if you add chia seeds, you might feel a little better about it! These small seeds are densely packed with antioxidants, minerals, fiber,

and omega-3 fatty acids, all of which may promote heart health, support strong bones, and improve blood sugar management.

Take a Break

We hope these tips help make your favorite dishes a little more fun and guilt-free! Enjoy!

This year, on June 30, we celebrate World Social Media Day, a day set aside to appreciate all of the technological advances and contributions that make the internet the vast success it is today. According to recent polls and studies, more than half of the world is on social media. People use social media platforms such as Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and TikTok to connect with friends and family, promote a business, catch up on the news, or pass the time. Just like there are advantages and disadvantages to pretty much everything in our lives, there are certainly benefits and drawbacks when it comes to social media, too. Social media is changing the way we communicate with others. Today, more than ever, it’s possible to have entire friendships online while never once interacting with each other in person. While this is simple, exciting, and convenient, it also encourages a breakdown in our social abilities and our natural inclination to interact with others in person as it lacks emotional connection. But, from a business perspective, social media makes sense — it allows for a global reach or a targeted reach, depending on the goals of your advertising and business. The ability to develop trust and a relationship with clients and prospects while keeping in

We all know the feeling: Sometime after lunch, you become sluggish, spacy, and unproductive. Many of us instinctively turn to caffeine to power through the rest of the day, but that can cause another crash, not to mention sleep problems. But don’t worry — you aren’t doomed to an aimless afternoon. We’ve compiled expert tips to perk up and carry on with your busy day. Plan your work. All of our bodies have internal rhythms, and by now, you probably know yours. Typically, people peak mid-morning or in the late afternoon. But whenever your productive heights are, plan around them. Complete the detailed, creative, or difficult work during the times when your energy is at its best, and save your “busy work” or repetitive tasks for the lulls when you feel less motivated. You’ll feel better and get more done. Consume healthy foods and lots of water. Maybe you don’t have complete control of your schedule. That’s where a healthy snack comes in. We tend to crash in the afternoon when our blood sugar drops, usually due to consuming carbohydrates. Eating vegetables, fruit, and protein or fiber-rich foods will help pick up your energy without incurring a future dip. While you’re snacking, drink some water. A 2018 study out of Yale found that even mild dehydration can negatively affect our brains’ ability to function, so don’t let your water bottle sit untouched. Get up and move. You’re not going to get over that slump by sitting in your chair. If you want to beat back fatigue, go for a walk, climb some stairs, stretch, or do some jumping jacks. Researchers have proven that exercise wakes up both your body and your mind. In fact, science says it will do a better job of rousing you than caffeine will. Best of all, it will help, not hurt, your ability to sleep at night. Finally, set yourself up for success by going to bed at a reasonable hour and getting your necessary 7–9 hours of sleep. Our attention ebbs and flows naturally, so none of us can be our best 100% of the time. But along with these other tips, staying well-rested can help you pick up the pace. NO CAFFEINE NEEDED HOW TO BEAT YOUR AFTERNOON SLUMP

Juneteenth: An Important Commemoration

Published by Newsletter Pro • www.NewsletterPro.com

Juneteenth: AN IMPORTANT

COMMEMORATION Today, Juneteenth, short for June 19th, is likely the most well-known celebration of the abolition of slavery in our country — so much so that some view it as a second Independence Day. Juneteenth specifically commemorates the day when federal troops of the U.S. Army took control of the state in Galveston, Texas, in 1865, and saw to it that 250,000 enslaved people were freed. This took place 2 1/2 years after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed by President Abraham Lincoln in the thick of the Civil War, which declared that slaves were to be freed. However, because the Emancipation Proclamation only applied to areas under Confederate control, slave-holding border states and rebel areas controlled by the Union did not free their slaves. The following year, on the 19th of June, local celebrations and festivities took place in African American communities remembering the significance of the day a year prior. Barbecues, parties, music, prayer services, and more were held to celebrate such a fabulous day. In 1979, Texas declared Juneteenth a state holiday, and last year, in 2021, it officially became a federal holiday! Almost all of the states, along with the District of Columbia, recognize it as a state holiday and celebrate this monumental day and the African American culture.
