2020 Men's Spring & Summer 'A' Teams The Virginia State Golf Association Men's Regular 'A' team spring season for Northern Virginia will start in late March/ early April, and the Washington Metropolitan Golf Association Regular A-team summer season takes place in July. All matches played at scratch. For those with a handicap index of 3.8 or lower an A-team intra-squad match will be held on Sunday, 8 March at ARL. At the completion of the match, the team roster for Spring 2020 will be set. If you have any questions about the ANCC Men’s ‘A’ Team, please contact co-cap- tains Matt Bravo at (703) 997-7172 or Chris Ironroad at (703) 350-2922.

The Washington Metropolitan Golf Association Senior ‘A’ Team competition matches will begin in April and continue into the first part of May as needed. Division winners will proceed on to play single elimination quarter, semi-final, and final matches. We need the best senior golfers, age 55+, to represent ANCC. Selection criteria for the team matches will be based on the 1 April handicaps (which are expected to be current and accurate). All matches are played at scratch. If you have a handicap of (6) or below and are interested in being considered for the team, contact the team co-captains, Steve Galing at (703) 407-0703 or Lynn Wessman at (703) 626-4313. 2020 WMGA Senior Men's 'A' Team

2020 ANCC Men's 'B' Team & Qualifying The ANCC Men's "B" Team competition begins late April. It's a great way to meet other Members and play golf against other clubs. It's open to all men with course handicaps ranging from 5-16. Matches are held on Saturdays/Sundays from April - July with playoffs going from Aug. - October. Tryouts will be held on 29 March at ARL and 5 April at FFX. Click here for more, or contact Steve Woolwine . are played at scratch on Wednesdays about 10:30 to 11:30 AM. ANCC needs low handicap senior golfers 50 years of age and older to play on the team. For more information, click here , or contact the Team Captains, Lynn Wessman and Peter Jacobi . SGLNV - Senior Golf League of Northern Virginia The Senior Golf League of Northern Virginia was founded in 2004 to promote friendly competition between golfers at Country Clubs. Matches

a brief business meeting before we head to the course for a 9-hole scramble at 2:00 PM. For this event, teams will be assigned, and no handicaps are required. We hope to see you there! Women's Nine Hole Golf Organization

We always welcome new members throughout the year! Please contact Sally Mitchell, Membership Chairman, at (703) 409-1438 for questions. The Spring Luncheon will be held Tuesday, 24 March at ARL. Please sign-up here starting 24 February. Yearly event sign-ups start at 11:30 and lunch at noon. The deadline for signing up is 12 March. For further information contact Chairman Carole Colburn at (703) 836-1050. We have bi-weekly play April - Oct. Regular competitions are held in 3 handicap flights on Tuesday mornings at FFX and Fridays at ARL. The first day of regular play for the season will be Friday, 3 April at FFX. The Rules Clinics will be held on 11 March at FFX and 13 March at ARL from 9:30 AM - 12:00 PM. Greg Scott, Director of ANCC Golf will discuss the New World Handicap System. All Members are encouraged to attend. Winter Golf ends 31 March. A total of ten rounds must be played at ANCC courses and posted by this date. Women's 18-Hole Golf Organization

WGO-18 Gears Up for 2020: The 18-Hole Women’s Golf Organization is gearing up for the 2020 season and invites all members (including prospective new members) to attend the following events: • 4 timely and exciting 1-hour Golf Clinics covering (1) Putting/Chipping, (2) Bunkers, (3) Driver/Fairway Metals and (4) Iron/Hybrids on 19 March, 25 March, 1 April and 9 April – each one hour session starting at 11:00 AM. ANCC will continue to offer a Tuesday evening Intraclub League through the indoor season from 6:30 to 8:00 PM. The ANCC Ladies Open Tennis tradition is over 50 years old. We are a group of women who love to play tennis, and we play during the indoor season, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 1:00 to 2:30 PM. Our sessions are fun, a little competitive and stress free. Our group provides the maximum freedom in balancing life on and off the court. If a player is unable to play due to vacation, work or another commitment, she does not have to find a substitute. Our group offers the flexibility of playing with more or less than fourplayers, so if you show up you will always play. For more information, please contact the Tennis Pro Shop. Ladies Open Tennis

Junior Clinics

All registration for spring and summer programs will be conducted through online registrations forms on the Club’s website here . Please contact Director of Junior Tennis, Pro Greg Paukstis , if you have any questions or need assistance placing or registering your child. Parents, please be advised that children wearing non-tennis specific shoes will not be able to participate.

On Mondays from 7:00 to 8:30 PM, we will be conducting a Ladies' Evening Clinic. These clinics will consist of drills and strategy. The hour and a half session will help players craft their doubles skills. For intermediate to advanced players only. For more information, please contact the Pro Shop at (703) 979-5471. The weekly sign-up online will be closed at a maximum of 6 players/week/clinic. Contact the Pro Shop for more information. Cost is $38/participant. Monday Ladies' Evening Clinic

Swim and Dive Registration On Friday, 13 March: Swim and Dive Team Registration will be located here and is open to all Junior Members 18 and under with no size limit restrictions. We will have opportunities for all abilities with the coaches evaluating swimmers to make sure they are placed in the appropriate group. Fairfax Clubhouses The overwhelming majority of members think of the Fairfax clubhouse as the current structure. However, two other “permanent” structures filled this role prior to its construction. To learn about the others, click here. This program offers the opportunity for people to enjoy the ANCC lifestyle for a preview of 6 consecutive months with no upfront Initiation Fee and access to all of the Club’s facilities and activities.
