Monsterland,
As the President and General Manager of Ignite Sports and the Choccolocco Monsters I want to welcome Choccolocco Monsters baseball here at Signature Field in Choccolocco Park. The Choccolocco Monsters are excited about our 1 st season and appreciate you coming out to tonight’s game. You will notice several upgrades that the City of Oxford and Monsters have invested in to make your evening of family friendly fun more enjoyable. Besides the increased seating, we have added showers for our athletes, built a new merchandise stand and now have offices at the park. In case you didn’t know, the Choccolocco Monsters are a member of the Sunbelt Baseball League and play at Signature Field at Choccolocco Park. The SBL is a wood bat collegiate summer baseball league that showcases some of the top talents in the nation. It is partially funded by Major League Baseball, and its mission is to provide a first-class collegiate summer program experience dedicated to helping young college athletes achieve their dreams of playing at the professional level. Working with the City we have a long-term goal of more park improvements like adding suites, additional seating, and fans to cool under the grandstands. As an organization we look forward to presenting a fun family friendly event as well as developing local baseball and sports industry talent. We know that in year one, we will have a few hiccups and we appreciate you working through our growing pains. If there is anything we can do to make your evening more enjoyable or you have a suggestion, please reach out to us at [email protected] or stop one of us running through the stands. If you like something let us know too, we will make sure we continue to do the good things. I want to give a special thank you to the City of Oxford, Mayor Alton Craft, the many departments, Billy Thompson and the Choccolocco Park Crew, Lori Denton and our many volunteers. They have been unbelievably great to work with! I also want to thank the corporate partners who have jumped on board and our season ticket holders, your support will continue to allow us the opportunity to continue to build our organization. So, sit back, grab a hot dog, a cold beverage, and enjoy your Choccolocco Monsters, we know you will have a scary good time!
