Management & Construction Services Limited

Welcome to Management and Construction Services Limited, a versatile, professional, long established construction company based in Weybridge, Surrey with an enviable reputation for delivery of successful building projects across the public and private education sector.

Quality construction and a well managed process have become the trademark of MCS. The completion of contracts on time, within budget and to the highest of standards is the objective around which MCS operates. The high level of focused customer and consultant service aligned with the delivery of a successful project is acknowledged by the very high level of repeat business achieved, 100% since 2010.

Many of our valued education clients ask us to undertake other projects and the number of schools where we have worked more than once, over six in several cases, and this list is continually growing.

Undertaking a wide variety of quality contracts in both traditional contract and Design and Build, a constructive and collaborative team approach to encompass the project requirements involving the client, his advisors and consultants and the end user is quickly established and maintained, with defined boundaries of responsibility throughout the programme thereby ensuring the project is completed successfully. MCS are fully resourced in the key areas of contract and project management, estimating, value engineering, energy renewables, planning, surveying, quality management, health & safety and administration. An intimate knowledge of operating conditions enables our staff to contribute positively to every aspect of a project. We are also able to identify potential problems and offer practical solutions to the benefits of our clients and the design team. All company Directors are shareholders within the private company and actively involved in a “hands on” role in all aspects of the business with at least one Director assigned to every project to give clients and consultants peace of mind that their project is receiving the same high level of service. This experience coupled with our commitment to quality and safety in the construction process, clearly demonstrates that MCS works to deliver projects on time and to the very highest standards in a spirit of openness and collaboration. MCS achieved recognition as an Investor in People company in 2004 and were re-accredited in 2007,2011 and 2013. Working in both the public and independent education systems, MCS have completed in excess of 170 different school building projects. This includes major multi phased re-developments, new classroom blocks, nursery units, sports halls, dining halls, chapels, 6th form centres, commercial kitchens, office facilities, changing facilities, swimming pools, fast track summer break refurbishments, laboratory’s and an array of extensions and general and specific refurbishments. These projects are not only carried out in schools, but also in pre-schools, universities and colleges. Smaller contracts can be fitted into school holiday times where fast-track systems can be implemented and rapid progress monitored to achieve critical dates. However where larger projects have to be carried out across several months, a high degree of technical ability, supervision and careful programming is essential to ensure special consideration is given to pupils, teaching staff and parents in order to minimise disruption and maximise safety issues.

Given our extensive experience we have developed a wide range of skills and knowledge to deal with the array of logistical and protection issues associated with working in occupied education environments. This has included developing “permit to work” to deal with specific working arrangements. Another major work sector for us is the ecclesiastical sector and us such we work on a regular basis across both sectors with a wide range of Diocesan boards including RC Diocese of Southwark, RC Diocese of Arundel & Brighton, RC Diocese of Westminster; London Diocesan Board for Schools, Diocese of Guildford etc. We also work with Surrey County Council through their BuildSurrey programme. In addition to three very experience hands on Directors we employ a very loyal team of staff including surveyors, estimators and contract/ project managers supported by experience site managers, tradesmen and site operatives along with head office based administration, support and accounts staff. Based in Weybridge, Surrey we are ideally located to benefit from the main road and rail networks permitting office based support staff to make regular visit sites to assist site based teams on sites all across Surrey, London and the surrounding home counties. Projects are regular- ly undertaken in Surrey, Sussex, Kent, Hampshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Middlesex and lower Hertfordshire and within most of the M25.

Contracts have ranged in size up to approximately £5million with many completed via either traditional, design & build or single / two stage negotiation.

The total value of education projects completed or in hand to date exceeds £70 million. Turnover for 2015 is expected to be around £15 million.

MCS are fully conversant with most forms of construction and contracting and different construction techniques.

MCS is fully privately owned by the active Directors/Shareholders and has up to date and effective strong financial and stable financial controls in place to ensure the company continues to trade successfully and profitably. Very good credit references are available if required.

We provide a responsive aftersales service on all completed contracts and on-going maintenance agreements if required.

Should you wish to contact us regarding any aspect of your proposed scheme please do so.
