‘My Faithful Friend’

Mungo & Maud has designed a series of products for Th e Wallace Collection, one of London’s most treasured national collections. Th e collaboration launches this October and will be sold through Mungo & Maud’s London store and mungoandmaud.com, as well as through Th e Wallace Collection. Inspired by the ‘Faithful Dog’, this anthology draws a connection to many of the dog paintings featured on the walls of the handsome building which was once the home of Sir Richard Wallace and bequeathed to the British nation by Lady Wallace in 1897. An elegant pallet of colours has been used to re fl ect the classical and re fi ned taste of Th e Wallace Collection and the rich tones seen within its portraits. Touches of gold used as accents to imitate gilded frames and inscriptions can be identi fi ed within the products.

Th e Wallace Collar & Lead In a rich-chocolate ostrich embossed leather and a modern stripe webbing to connect the past to the present. Minimal accents of gold leather scalloped edging are used to bring attention to the gilding of frames along with an oval leather detail with ‘My Faithful Dog’ in gold lettering ~ to draw a parallel to name plates used on historical dog collars. In a rich-choc late ostrich embossed le ther and a modern stripe webbing to conn ct the past to the present. Minimal accents of gold leather scalloped edging are used to bring attention to the gilding of frames along with an oval leather detail debossed with ‘My Faithful Friend’ in gold lettering ~ to draw a parallel to name plates used on historical dog collars.

Faithful Dog Treats For those obedient and faithful dogs who deserve a reward. Th e bone-shaped treats are Peanut Butter fl avour.

If you cast your eyes across the whole collection , in the paintings , arms and armour , Sevres porcelain and even some of the jewellery , you will fi nd some of the greatest representations of dog portraiture . So far I have counted 907 ! ”

Faithful Friend Dog Toy Crocheted in cotton, this little bear with a stitched bow detail draws reference to the elegant style of dress of the time and who of course will stay loyal to those creatures who carry him around.
