A SPECIAL THANKS TO ALL MY STAFF HAPPY LABOR DAY!
With Labor Day approaching, I’d like to express my appreciation and admiration for the people who make my practice possible — my employees. In many ways, I couldn’t have been luckier. Not everyone appreciates a good worker while they have one, but I often find myself impressed with the individuals who have become part of our team, whether it’s their work ethic, compassion, intelligence, or all of the above. To explain just how special these people are, I thought I’d tell you a little bit about what they do and the challenges they overcome regularly. First, while you might expect that our occupational therapists are an essential part of serving our patients, they also take care of paperwork, note taking, and some billing that’s required to keep the practice going. They’re also very caring individuals with extensive, specialized knowledge they utilize every single day. Many people ask to see me since my name is on the practice. However, I’m not shy to say that just because my name is on the practice, that doesn't automatically make me the best therapist. All of our therapists do amazing work — some have even moved on to opening their own practices or are now teaching at universities. I’m very proud of the highly skilled therapists we get to work with, and even prouder to see the ways they mature in their profession. Second, office assistants are also very helpful at our practice, since they assist nearly every single person in the office: therapists, billing, and front desk staff. They help with scheduling, preparing modalities for patients, taking calls, and, really, anywhere the practice needs help the most that particular day. As you can imagine, this means office assistants get pulled in multiple directions every day. They have to wear a lot of different hats and switch between them pretty easily just to keep up. We love our assistants for the juggling act they do so well! Third, our billing manager is responsible for collecting all the billing >Page 1 Page 2 Page 3 Page 4
