The Solution to Ocean Plastic

The Future of Grocery Retailing

Imagine a worldwide chain of stores where everything from school tuition, insurance, or a trip to the dentist is available for purchase in exchange for plastic garbage. Plastic garbage that is sorted, shredded, and sold to brands who reuse “social” plastic in their products. That’s the goal of Plastic Bank, an ecosystem that provides an opportunity to collect and trade plastic waste for currency.

With organic fresh produce sales topping $9 billion last year, the future of grocery retailing is top of mind. This engaging conversation between a trio of respected industry leaders will discuss how retailers are addressing supply chain issues, the role of technology and e-commerce, the evolving consumer, and new innovations in retail.

David Katz Founder, Plastic Bank An ocean steward, David has created an opportunity for the world to collect and exchange plastic as a currency. Today, his social enterprise is a global network of over 500 collection communities with more than 30,000 members that are transcending poverty by saving the ocean from plastic.
