Tractors

Platts Harris are one of New Holland’s main dealers. We specialise in Tractors, Combines and Balers. We are one of the few full line dealers in the UK. The class leading T6 & T7 range is by far the most popular ranges that we sell.

T6 The first two digits “T6” refer to the maximum engine power management horsepower, rounded to the nearest 5, or the maximum power in the case of the T6.120. Models ending in a “0” are four – cylinder units and those finishing with a “5” boast six-cylinder engines. With ECOBLueTM SCR Technology the savings on fuel can be up to 10%. Also long 600 hour service intervals continue to be industry benchmark. The T6 range is available in both 4 & 6 cylinder configurations.

T7 The T7 tractors now offer up to 19hp (CV) more power and 139Nm of torque over the previous T7000 range. With Engine Power Management, up to 51hp extra us available for optimum productivity. T7 tractors are designed to make operation even easier. The SideWinder TM II armrest reduces fatigue and increases operating pleasure. It has Award-winning ABS Supersteer TM technology.

12 November 2013 The T8 Auto Command™ tractor wins the “Maschine des Jahres 2014 - Machine of the Year 2014” award, a great achievement for New Holland Agriculture at Agritechnica Show The New Holland’s new T8 Auto Command™ tractor was recognized with the “Maschine des Jahres 2014 - Machine of the Year 2014” award by a committee of journalists from Europe’s pre-eminent machinery publications. The award aims to pick out the models for market distribution, in which a wealth of technological innovations will signify immediate practical benefits for farmers. It has been announced at Agritechnica the most important European show for agricultural machinery and equipment, in Hannover, Germany. “This new tractor with its stepless Auto Command™ transmission, a longer wheelbase and even more power on tap, is set to improve its already impressive all-round performance and it complements the existing PowerShift™ model range.” as explained by Luca Mainardi, Head of Tractor and Telehandler Product Management. The judges, a panel of leading farm

machinery journalists from across Europe, assessed the T8.420 Auto Command™ as being able to offer ultimate in-field performance in high speed cultivation tasks, ideal for large scale cash crop farmers, hay and forage contractors together with large dairies and transport intensive operations. “This award testifies the hard work and dedication of all those involved in the development of the T8 Auto Command™.” stated Carlo Lambro, Brand President New Holland Agriculture. “This important industry award is a great recognition of the innovative approach we take to product development and the benefits this has for our customers and moreover of our commitment to developing state of the art technology, which improves the efficiency, productivity and sustainability of the world’s farmers.” The six model T8 Series line-up, with outputs ranging from 273 hp to 419 hp, is powered by efficient ECOBlue™ SCR Cursor 9 engines, developed in collaboration with FPT Industrial, and delivering Tier 4A emissions compliance. New Holland has tailored its Auto Command™ transmission for the T8 range to perfectly match its dimensions and usage profile. The Auto Command™ transmission uses intuitive force-

based logic and is controlled via the ergonomic CommandGrip™ handle, identical to that found on T7 Auto Command™ models. “2013 will be a memorable year for New Holland: this great award, the Agritechnica Silver medals for combine harvester innovations: the unique-in-the- industry Opti-Speed™ straw-walker and the Cornrower header for Combines; the Sitevi recognition for Opti-Grape™ technology on Grape harvester, and finally the Agribex awards: the gold one for Dual Stream Header and the silver one, again for Opti-Speed™; all of this states New Holland’s intense commitment in innovation and improving farming technology.“ concluded Carlo Lambro. New Holland Agriculture’s reputation is built on the success of our customers, cash crop producers, livestock farmers, contractors, vineyards and groundscare professionals. They can count on the widest offering of innovative products and services: a full line of equipment, from tractors to harvesting, material handling equipment, complemented by tailored financial services from a specialist in agriculture. A highly professional global dealer network and New Holland’s commitment to excellence guarantees the ultimate customer experience for every customer. With costs of fuel, seeds, fertilizer and labour continuing to rise, precision farming is extremely important as it will save you money. Precision farming should be accessible for all and this is the aim of New Holland Precision Land Management. than adequate for car navigation systems but not accurate enough for vehicle guidance in agricultural applications, where we need Pass-to- Pass and Year-to-Year accuracy and repeatability. Pass-To-Pass Accuracy This measures the relative accuracy over a 15 minute interval. This is usually thought of as skip/ overlap from one pass to the next when driving swaths. A New Holland receive with pass-to-pass accuracy of +/-2.5cm means you get less than +/-2.5cm skip or overlap, 95% of the time. Year-To-Year Accuracy This is the measure of repeatable accuracy which means that you can drive the same rows a day week, month or even a year later. To summarise this +/-2.5cm year-to-year accuracy means you can drive the same rows next year within +/-2.5cm of this year’s rows, 95% of the time. 13

Ground based GPS receivers, at known locations across the country, receive the same signals. As their absolute location is known, they can calculate the real time position and send a correction signal. Geostationary satellites then return the correction signal

signals from the 32 satellites that circle the earth. These satellites travel in known orbits that allow a land based receiver to determine its own position in relation to each visible satellite. The signals generated by GPS alone are not accurate enough for use in agriculture. Therefore, corrections
