1. PHILOSOPHY
We believe:
That our contributions towards realizing King Abdullah’s vision for KAUST is to create a beacon school where students and teachers are empowered to flourish and reach their true potential
That outcomes for students are enhanced in a culture of high trust and high courage where learning conversations are analytical, critical and challenging.
Real growth occurs when we are honest with others and ourselves about our practice and demonstrate a genuine commitment to growth.
BACKGROUND
To become and maintain ‘beacon’ school status, we believe we must ensure that people can continually develop. TKS has been resourced to support the range of required professional practices that allow each of our professionals to learn, improve and grow. We are proud to be an organization that values the continual process of building capacity. KAUST is an organization with a compelling vision and mission and world-class professionals. We believe that performance management for our people should also aim to be world-class. To this end, we have taken bold measures to ensure our appraisal system is not traditional but innovative and empowering. We aspire to engage every professional with a process that allows them to practice deep and meaningful inquiry. Making performance management meaningful begins with exposing you to a new way of thinking, a new way of doing and a new way of feeling. The Performance Management Program (PMP) at TKS is possibly different from other performance management systems you have experienced. The PMP is designed as a self-authoring approach to professional growth and development. This occurs through the development of professional inquiries that are supported by the established TKS required professional practices, i.e. journaling, coaching, walkthroughs, feedback and learning talk conversations. The Interlead tool is a simple on-line system that enables you to reflect on your professional growth and development of your inquiry in a cloud-based environment. The Interlead tool also enables you to generate rich, targeted, high quality >Page 1 Page 2 Page 3 Page 4 Page 5 Page 6 Page 7 Page 8 Page 9 Page 10 Page 11 Page 12 Page 13 Page 14 Page 15 Page 16
