R ichard P . H abersham 1859–1933, active in Oregon and California Richard P. Habersham was born in Atkin, South Carolina in 1859 and was educated at the U.S. Naval Academy. Beginning in 1888, he worked as a civil engineer with the railroads and traveled frequently. Habersham was a charter member of the Portland Art Club, exhibiting there in 1885 and 1886. He also exhibited at the Oregon Industrial Expositions in 1895 and 1896. Habersham paintings are historically significant, and extremely rare. Richard P.
