WE HAVE A BIG ANNOUNCEMENT Pro PT Is Expanding!
to the best car wash around, I noticed new construction across from the Big Y grocery store plaza with a Starbucks going up. If you’ve been to our clinic, you’ll know we are currently positioned across from the Super Stop and Shop grocery store, right next to a Starbucks. If this new building wasn’t fate, I don’t know what is. While it’s only 2.5 miles from our current location, it’s on the complete opposite side of town and I’m excited to announce that come summer 2022, we will have a Pro PT East and a Pro PT West! The new building is currently still under construction, but we have our plans already in place. The new space will be an open-concept clinic with a modernized feel. While we have hired new staff in preparation for our expansion, many of our senior clinicians will be working out of the new location. Having two locations will now allow us to space our staff and patients out. One of our new therapists specializes in TMJ and craniofacial problems and is also an expert in dry needling. With the new space, we can work more efficiently with that clientele while expanding our dry needling services at the same time. Another seasoned therapist who will be transferring to the new location is our certified hand therapist. With additional space, she will be able to work more in depth with hand patients. We hope to increase our scope for our balance patients and
We have heard your frustrations with problematic parking, waiting lists, and difficulty getting into the office, and we have listened! We are proud to announce a brand-new, second location, right here in Franklin! As we have navigated COVID-19, I have especially recognized the need for more space. We are currently operating out of a 3,500-square-foot suite, and while we have been here for over 20 years and love everything about it, we’ve outgrown it. For quite some time now, we’ve been looking around and wrestling with the idea of where to go and how to grow, and nothing struck us as the right opportunity until one day, on my way to the other side of town heading

Much time and effort has gone into making this all happen and we are excited to get it off the ground. It’s a work in progress and it’s coming along well. We are now able to accommodate everyone, and this expansion will continue to solidify our dedication to our Franklin community, which we have served for 30 years. Our mission is to give back to our supportive community — Franklin is chalk full of wonderful people. Over 30 years, we’ve spanned the generations, seeing kids, mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, and grandparents. We can’t wait to open the doors and show you our new space!

occurs when cartilage wears down at your joints. Other research shows that for every pound a person gains, four times more pressure is placed on your knees. DON’T SKIP THE WARMUP. When working out, never jump right into the main exercise. Take time to warm up your body to make sure it is prepared for the exercise session. Otherwise, you may expose your joints to injury. DON’T SKIMP ON CALCIUM. Calcium plays a large role in the health of your bones and preventing osteoporosis. In keeping your bones healthy and sturdy, your joints will function better, too! Calcium is found in milk, cheeses, broccoli, kale, and yogurt. If you aren’t getting enough in your diet, take a calcium supplement approved by your doctor. DON’T REACH FOR THAT SECOND CUP. Research shows that caffeine in large amounts may make your bones weak and lead to osteoarthritis. Instead, get some vitamin C in your diet, which is proven to slow the progression of osteoarthritis. CHOOSE COMFORT. When you are choosing footwear, opt for supportive and flexible shoes with enough room for your toes to move. Wearing heels is proven to put extra stress on your knees and increase your risk of osteoarthritis, presenting a problem later down the road. The best way to care for your joints is by working to keep them stable and strong. Whether you are in your 20s or 60s, healthy joins will help you to stay mobile and active well into and through your retirement. Take care of your body so it can take care of you!

Maintaining Healthy Joints
HEALTHY JOINTS MATTER 8 TIPS TO PROTECT YOUR JOINTS We do so much without even thinking about it. We breathe, eat, walk, run, and blink without giving a thought as to how much work our body does, including the many moving parts it takes to make these bodily movements and functions possible. Our joints play a major part in our physical movement. Your joints are the areas in your body where two or more bones come together. Many of the joints in your body have cartilage on the ends of the bones to help them gently glide over one another. Healthy joints are one of the keys to painless running, jumping, walking, yoga, and sports. Of course, staying healthy, sleeping enough, avoiding injuries, eating right, and getting regular exercise all contribute to healthy joints. But we have a few other tips to keep your joints in their best condition. DRINK MORE WATER. Water accounts for around 80% of the cartilage in your joints. When your body becomes dehydrated, it takes water from other areas of your
body, including your cartilage, and your joints may suffer as a result. Stay hydrated! EAT YOUR GREENS. Vegetables such as bibb lettuce, romaine lettuce, spinach, kale, parsley, and broccoli all play a role in helping your body to fight against cartilage destruction and bone loss. These dark leafy greens all contain antioxidants called carotenoids, which can help rebuild your cartilage. STAY ACTIVE. Too much activity and inactivity can both wreak havoc on your joints. When you are able to, alternate between sitting and standing to avoid your joints from becoming too strained or stiff. MAINTAIN A HEALTHY WEIGHT. Carrying extra weight on your body places unnecessary stress on your joints. In fact, according to the Cleveland Clinic, losing just 10 pounds can significantly help prevent joints from falling victim to osteoarthritis, which
