Secret Garden Afternoon Tea’s

Our Afternoon Teas and Cream Teas are truly scrumptious, come and enjoy finger sandwiches, fresh hot scones, home made cakes and lashings of Hot Tea & Coffee. Served every day in our Coach House, Pivate dining areas, or outside on the terrace if the weather allows, between 10am to 6pm with our last seating at 4.30pm. Afternoon teas must be booked at least 24hours in advance.

It is very important to let us know of any dietaries and what type of tea you wish for at time of booking.

Teas Pluckley English Breakfast Tea – A well balanced Tea Assam – A strong Indian Tea with a malty flavour Earl Grey- A scented blend of black teas named after Charles 2nd Earl Grey Darjeeling – An aromatic tea from India a mixture of almonds and wildflowers Lapsang Souchong – A Chinese tea fired over Smokey pine needles, smoky flavour Other choices available on the day Coffees Freshly Ground Milano Coffee Bean, a fresh strong espresso, Black or served with hot milk Selection of drinks with 50p surcharge Herbal Teas, Lemon & Ginger, Blackberry & Vanilla, Camomile, Green Tea, Cranberry and Raspberry, Red Bush Tea, Peppermint Cappuccinos, Lattes, etc..

Extras

Extra clotted cream - £1.00 per person Wines, Beers and Soft drinks & cocktails are available on the day from our fully stocked bar. Extra Sandwiches are available to order at £3.00pp for a round. Sausage Rolls at £2.00pp can be added but must be pre ordered in advance

Notes

Please inform us of any special dietary needs when booking Afternoon Tea as we might not be able to serve these on the day without prior notice. Teas and Coffees will be topped up complimentary. However, if you change variety this is charged. Please note that menus vary due to seasonality of produce etc The photos have all been taken at Secret garden and show what was available on the day we served them, your Afternoon Tea may have different items and look different. Our Afternoon Teas are homemade here at The Secret Garden and we only use Kent suppliers and Local Produce.

Private Dining

We offer two very different private dining areas.

Glass House Our outside-inside room, based in the Garden this is our converted Victorian green house. This room does not have toilets but these are situated not too far away in the main Coach House. Please be aware that we have no WIFI connection in the Glasshouse. We do require a minimum of 14 guests up to a maximum of 28 guests (max of 24 guests can be seated on 1 long table). Bookings are available at two sitting times: 11am to 2pm – your Afternoon Tea stands will be delivered at approx 11.30 - 12am 3pm to 6pm – your Afternoon Tea stands will be delivered at approx 3.30pm-4pm

The Chapel Based in the cobbled courtyard, this was once used as a chapel during the 2 nd World War. This room has a large disabled toilet for your use. We do require a minimum of 28 guests in the Chapel up to a maximum of 40 (which would be seated at round tables seating 10 per table). The Chapel is available for one seating time of 12am to 4pm, with Afternoon Tea stands being delivered at approx. 1pm. The Chapel has Wifi Important Notes for all Private Dining A £100.00 deposit is required upon booking and this is refunded or taken off of the bill on the day. We require min of 48 hours’ notice for exact confirmation of guest numbers and any dietaries requirements, you will then be charged for the numbers you confirm. It would be helpful if dietaries could be seated together to help with the distribution of stands. One person must pay for the whole group – we do not have the ability to split the bill for individuals in large groups Discretionary 10% service charge added to all groups, please let your guests know that this is added on to your bill. Any decorations must be taken home with you and please note that we do not allow table sprinkles as these can stain our tables. Please advise your Guests that some of the premium hot drinks have small surcharges, and cold drinks are not included.
