Golfers from the Texarkana community gathered, Tuesday, October 6th, for a golf tournament supporting the United Way Foundation. It was a beautiful day of golf, raising money for an important cause. The event was hosted at Texarkana Golf Ranch and was organized by members of the tournament committee, including David Mims, Mike Mahone, and Mark Bledsoe. UnitedWay’s very own Molly Riley and Jamie Branson also had a tent set up with games for the golfers where they could win prizes and enter raffles. Winners of the Championship Flight were Morgan Smith, John Kelley, Ray Norton, and Frank Sides. Bart Vance was the winner of the “Putt-Off.” Following the tournament, the participants were treated to a delicious fried fish dinner, provided by the United Steelworkers. The proceeds from the tournament went directly to the United Way Foundation, which endeavors to advance the common good. Their focus is on education, income and health, and their impact is global, working for the stability of every person in every community.
