ANOTHER TOOL TO KEEP YOU INFORMED AND AT PEACE Introducing ‘The Life of Your Case’ I’ve always been humbled by the amount of trust our clients put in our firm to help, heal, and guide them through a difficult time in their lives. After the traumatic experience that led to their injury, trusting a team of legal experts takes a lot of courage. It’s our goal to return that trust by living up to the expectations we outline from that very first consultation.

In an effort to keep our clients informed and to provide comfort during this difficult time, I’ve written three free e-books, created many educational videos, and we have an app and robust website— all designed to offer insight and perspective on your case. Furthermore, we communicate with clients on a weekly basis, ensuring they are regularly updated and afforded an opportunity to ask questions. But I also knew we could do more. As legal experts, it can be easy to forget that the people we work with every day are not inundated with the justice system’s timelines or procedures. The various steps in this process can be confusing, and you may wonder, “What’s next?” In our continual effort to keep improving (as one of our core values states), we are creating “The Life of Your Case” flowchart to guide new, current, and prospective clients through the personal injury case process. The goal is to provide a road map for your case, in addition to our weekly conversations and the educational pieces available on our website. (You can find my three e-books and our videos online at www.vanmeverenlaw.com) Unfortunately, our legal system works through a long, drawn-out process, and without prior knowledge of the steps or time involved in these cases, the simple act of going through the process can feel like another trauma on top of your difficult experience, which resulted in your injury. For example, investigating all the facts and circumstances of your case, gathering all the medical records and bills, and drafting and sending a settlement demand letter can take months. From there, we face negotiations with claims adjusters, and afterward, we typically schedule a mediation. If a case isn’t settled in mediation, that does not mean we have to go to court. (But we can go to court, too, if necessary!) While our weekly check-in process and educational videos cover some of this knowledge, “The Life of Your Case” flowchart is designed to prepare you

for potential next steps. When you know what’s coming, you can better prepare mentally, emotionally, and physically.

By creating this flowchart, I hope we can answer two of the most common questions we receive from clients: “How long will my case take?” and “How much is my case worth?” The best answer we can give right now is “it depends.” That’s not always reassuring when you’re facing a lengthy recovery process and are in need of proper compensation. The flowchart can provide tangible guidance on what you can expect and what your case’s journey through the legal system could entail. At the time of writing this cover letter, our flowchart is still in its infancy and creation stages. However, we hope to have printed copies and digital versions of the flowchart available for current and prospective clients very soon. Anything we can do to help our clients heal and start this next phase in the best manner possible is worth every minute of our time. We know how powerful each piece of information you receive can be, and my hope is that this flowchart will be another helpful educational tool in your road to recovery.

If you have additional questions or would like to ensure you receive a copy of the flowchart, please give us a call. As I mentioned, you can also find our other resources online or on our app. As always, thank you for your continued trust in my team.

Out of all the businesses hit by the COVID-19 pandemic, few were affected more than movie theaters. For the past year, as movies have debuted on streaming services rather than in theaters, many industry leaders, critics, and theatergoers alike have raised the alarming question: Did COVID-19 kill the movie theater industry? In short? No. Not by a long shot. Though the past year has left the industry somewhat beleaguered (AMC closed 60 theaters permanently, Cineworld reported losses totaling $2 billion, and the Alamo furloughed more than 5,000 employees). Yet, despite all of this, a night at the movies is here to stay. When a Vox reporter reached out to various moviegoers about whether they would attend theaters once the pandemic ends, many of them said yes because streaming a film in their living room just can’t provide the same experience. Watching a movie in a theater completely immerses one in the experience — you can’t pause the film to watch later or do chores. And you’re in it with the whole theater. Comedies are funnier when you laugh with others. A hero’s triumphs are more spectacular when you cheer them on together. (Who didn’t go nuts when Captain America caught Thor’s hammer in “Avengers: Endgame”?) When you leave the theater, you feel a little closer to the strangers around you, and having been immersed in the movie alongside your friends, you can discuss how you liked the movie on the way home. Of course, movie theaters will still change as a result of the pandemic. Theaters are working to become more digital, some even moving to eliminate paper tickets and creating options to order concessions before your arrival. More theaters may promote private viewings of movies so people can be more careful about whom they watch movies with. Some theaters are also trying to create more of an “experience” for moviegoers by offering a wider array of food and even comfier seats. Will a Night at the Movies Change Forever? OUR CLIENTS SAY IT BEST

“This is the other five stars you deserve! Thanks so much to the VanMeveren team! Never have I dealt with a more strategic but personal law group. They were always working hard for me and very attentive and timely with responding to my concerns and needs. The team will make you no promises but will work diligently to make sure they consider every angle to maximize your case! “The team always listened to my frustrations, and I always felt they were working with me to help secure a better future for my family and me! In nearly two years and having several interactions a week with the team, I never had one bad experience either by phone or in person. I was in quite a bit of pain and some may say a little grouchy! So, that is saying a lot about the care for their clients on a personal level as well. “Karl was my lawyer, and I believe he has been my miracle since my accident! After my accident, I had to deal with a divorce after 25 years of marriage along with my three surgeries! Life felt impossible at times, but Karl was always there for me. Karl never told me what I should do but was there to listen and assure me he would continue to work hard on my case. Karl and the team did just that, and he stayed true to his word! I just settled my case before trial for an amount that will really change my life in a very positive way! “I have had the best legal experience ever working with the VanMeveren Law Group and will keep in touch with the team forever! I strongly recommend to anyone who needs a personal injury lawyer to hire VanMeveren Law Group! It could change your life like it did mine, and it is great to have a strong team looking out for you through times like these!” –Ryan Behm

However, these changes, especially given the circumstances of the past year, are hardly surprising. The movie theater industry has been evolving

for over 100 years, and it certainly won’t stop evolving now.

Building Strength and Recovery Fort Collins Fitness Experts Help You Empower Your Body

In the mid-2000s, Shelly Beyerle discovered a pain relief and recovery method so powerful she had to run home and tell her husband, Keith Beyerle, immediately. After a demo by the expert who had treated her, Keith was just as amazed as Shelly. They both knew they had to bring it to the Fort Collins community. At Rocky Mountain Recovery and Straightline Fitness Studio, the Beyerles, along with their staff and a community of Rossiter coaches, have been helping the community find their strength through functional fitness training and pain relief and management with Rossiter treatment and Yamuna body rolling. The goal is to create a space where clients can learn more about their bodies while improving function, mobility, and strength. In the center’s self-proclaimed “adult playground,” guests are invited to treat working out like recess. In addition to being taught proper form, athletes are taught how to incorporate methodology, stability, and strength into their everyday movements. The workouts and machines are designed to target the entire body while empowering the users to unleash their own inner superheroes.

With Rossiter, trained coaches like Shelly and Keith step on participants to unlock the connective tissue running throughout the entire body. It sounds and looks a little crazy, but the practice is actually very meticulous and calculated. It’s a form of myofascial release designed to stretch muscles into a relaxing state. Yamuna ball rolling, much like foam rolling, does something similar but uses various sized rubber balls to target specific muscle groups and parts of your body. The goal is to release tension, stimulate recovery, and build stronger, leaner muscles. (Plus, it feels great, too!) For Shelly and Keith, Rocky Mountain Recovery and Straightline Fitness Studio is the culmination of a lifelong dream to create a space that is a hub of self-care and improves all body types in all phases. To learn about pricing and classes, visit StraightlineFitnessStudio.com. Mention that you saw Straightline featured in VanMeveren Law Group’s newsletter and receive a $20 Rossiter discount in September!

But part of a strength regimen has to also include recovery and self-care. That’s where Rossiter and Yamuna body rolling come into play.
