IT’S NATIONAL WORK LIKE A DOG DAY!

HOW TO ACHIEVE A HEALTHY WORK-LIFE BALANCE

“It’s been a hard day’s night, and I’ve been working like a dog. It’s been a hard day’s night, I should be sleeping like a log.”

mental well- being, taking a day here and there is essential. Whether you take a mental health day and

These lyrics from The Beatles’ hit “A Hard Day’s Night” accurately describe a normal day in the lives of most Americans. According to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), employees in the United States on average work 1,767 hours a year. In fact, in 2019, it was estimated that 77% of Americans work more than 40 hours a week! Aug. 5 is National Work Like a Dog Day, a day dedicated to encouraging us to work hard and meet every challenge that comes our way to fulfill our full potential and dreams — after all, it’s a dog- eat-dog world out there. While having a strong work ethic is admirable and will take you far, I also believe in finding a healthy balance. But what are some ways to achieve this? PRIORITIZE YOUR HEALTH. Above all, your physical, emotional, and mental health should always come first! It’s important to always be cognizant of the amount of stress you are placing on yourself, and that’s much easier said than done, right? Including exercise, meditation, and self-reflection into your day while eating balanced meals and drinking plenty of water are just a few ways to keep yourself healthy during those long work weeks. TAKE DAYS OFF. Oftentimes, we fear taking days off from work to avoid the dreadful catch up when we return to the office. However, for your sanity and

make a staycation out of it or use the day to get some cleaning done around the house or you take a two-week trip to the Caribbean, getting away from the office is good for you. DON’T BE AFRAID TO UNPLUG. When you aren’t at work, taking a break from anything that links you to the office is essential. It helps you recover from work stress and allows you the time we need to reset and recharge. Instead of reading through work emails on the weekend, after work, or your days off, pick up a book. Those texts from your coworker can wait until Monday, and there’s no need to try to get in some extra work from home! MAKE TIME FOR YOUR FAMILY AND YOURSELF. Outside of work, focus on creating time for those you love — and this includes yourself! Plan a date night with your significant other, embrace family meals at home, and take the time to be present for family gatherings and activities. Don’t forget to allow yourself some “me” time, too! If yoga is a stress reliever for you, go for it! If you enjoy exercising, make sure to get your workout in. If you enjoy a nice long bath, allow yourself the time!

In today’s world and these “dog days of summer,” we are working like dogs! Don’t forget to prioritize your health, happiness, and family life while working hard

“Don’t forget to prioritize your health, happiness, and family life while working hard to create the best life for yourself and loved ones — it’s important! ”

WHAT IS SOCIAL SELLING MARKETING?

HOW CAN YOU IMPLEMENT THIS IN YOUR BUSINESS?

Today, more and more people search for products online and use social media to find new trends and products. Now is the time to meet your customers where they are — with social selling marketing. WHAT IS SOCIAL SELLING MARKETING? Social selling is the art of forming relationships with current and future customers to generate sales. Building these relationships makes people more likely to use your products. Instead of telling them to buy right now, you’re ingraining in their minds that you’re always there. This method can help boost sales, give you a competitive edge, strengthen your brand’s reputation, and is more effective than cold-calling. HOW DO YOU SELL SOCIALLY? First, you must know your audience. What do they need, and what do they want? Next, find out which social media platforms they are most likely to use. Do they use Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or TikTok? This will allow you to reach your audience easier if you use the platforms they are most frequently on. If you’re trying to find prospects, research people who are interacting with products that are similar to yours. Find people who bought from your competitors but didn’t have a great experience. This gives you a chance to offer them a better alternative.

One of the most effective ways to sell your brand in social marketing is by answering questions and responding to users. For example, if someone were to complain on Twitter about an item from a company, that business could create a team that checks social media for these types of issues. Then, the business can respond to the user and help resolve the problem. This shows customers that you care about them and their experience, which will influence them to continue to buy from you. Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills can do wonders for your brand. Sales have always been about building relationships and establishing credibility. Social selling is just like that, except you’re using the power of social media as leverage. So take advantage of it! Meet your customers and potential customers where they are, and watch your relationships and profits soar. GEORGIA LAW: IT’S ILLEGAL TO DRIVE ON THE GORE BUT WHAT IS A GORE? Often, the gore area will have raised pavement markers to define the area, dashed pavement markings, and a thicker dividing line outlining the area to help the gore area stand out. Sometimes, highway gore areas even include impact attenuators that are cushion devices to reduce the damage to cars and people. While gores are very beneficial, driving in, through, or on them can be dangerous, can cause accidents, and is illegal. Drivers who are charged with driving in the gore can potentially face penalties that may include points on their driver’s license, which can raise your insurance rates. Keep in mind that if you receive 15 or more points within a 24-month period, your driver’s license can be suspended. For more information on Georgia laws or if you have been charged with a traffic violation, a skilled attorney from Yeargan & Kert, LLC can help! Call us today to set up a free consultation!

Georgia state law states that “no vehicle shall be driven over, across, or within any dividing space, barrier, gore, paved shoulder, or section separating the roadways of a divided highway.” But what exactly is a gore, where is it located, and how do you make sure you don’t break this law? A gore is a triangular plot of land between the lanes of highways and the exit and entrance ramps of highways that is designed to protect and organize cars that are merging onto and off of highways. These areas help drivers who are entering the highway gauge how fast they must go to match the speeds of other cars and to safely merge; it also acts to warn drivers who try to improperly exit the highway or who may be about to run off the road.

LAUGH IT OFF

What was supposed to be a fun night out on the town can easily turn into a drunk and disorderly conduct charge, sometimes just referred to as a drunk and disorderly. An individual can be charged with drunk and disorderly conduct for a variety of reasons, including if a person has been drinking and: • They are violent toward another individual and/or place the alleged victim’s property in danger. • They are accused of destroying the alleged victim’s property. • Without provocation they speak in a manner that may incite violence or breach the peace in another individual’s presence. This includes using “fighting words” to instigate violence. • Unprovoked, they use obscene, vulgar, or profane language that threatens to breach the peace on the phone or in person in the presence of an individual under the age of 14. Drunk and disorderly conduct is an extremely common charge issued by police to help keep the public safe, prevent someone from interfering with an investigation, or even to teach someone “a lesson.” Oftentimes, when a driver is arrested for a DUI in the state of Florida, the passenger is charged with drunk and disorderly if they exit the vehicle and interfere with the DUI investigation and questioning in an attempt to prevent the driver from being arrested. In Georgia, disorderly conduct is a misdemeanor charge, punishable by up to 12 months in jail and/or a $1,000 fine. In some cases, a judge may issue an alternate sentence such as probation, alcohol awareness courses, and/or community service in lieu of time served in jail. If you were accused of being drunk and disorderly and charged, no matter the circumstances, we are here to help and work for you to get the charge dismissed or reduced. Call us today! TASTY BRUSCHETTA CHICKEN

Fresh tomatoes and basil abound in August, practically begging to become bruschetta! This recipe turns that appetizer into a main dish.

INGREDIENTS

• 4 boneless and skinless chicken breasts, pounded to even thickness • 4 tbsp olive oil • 2 tbsp lemon juice, divided • 1/4 tsp pepper • 1 tsp Italian seasoning

• 3 tomatoes, chopped • 2 cloves garlic, minced • 1 tbsp fresh basil, chopped • Salt and pepper, to taste • 4 slices mozzarella cheese • Parmesan cheese, grated

DIRECTIONS 1. Add chicken to a large resealable bag.

2. In a small bowl, combine olive oil, 1 tbsp lemon juice, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Pour over chicken and seal. Refrigerate for 30 minutes. 3. Turn a grill to medium-high heat and add the chicken. Discard the marinade. Grill chicken 5–7 minutes per side or until fully cooked. 4. Combine the remaining lemon juice, tomatoes, garlic, and basil. Add salt and pepper, to taste. 5. Before taking the chicken off the grill, top each breast with a slice of mozzarella cheese. Cover and cook 2–3 minutes, then serve topped with the tomato mixture and grated Parmesan cheese.

Siri, What’s the Prettiest U.S. Restaurant?

3 MOST BEAUTIFUL RESTAURANTS IN AMERICA

WHERE THE VIEW IS PART OF THE MENU …

When you go to a nice restaurant, you’re not just paying for food — you’re also paying for an experience. Decor might be the last thing on a guest’s mind, but with the right design, some restaurants are absolutely breathtaking. Here are a few of our favorites. PINK CADILLAC DINER — NATURAL BRIDGE, VIRGINIA Taking a step into this restaurant feels like stepping straight into the 1950s … in all the best ways possible. The diner’s bold, beautiful shades of bubblegum pink — including a vintage pink Cadillac parked in front — prompt nostalgia and delight. Accompanied with a classic burger and ice cream diner menu, this East Coast gem is a destination you won’t want to miss. CECCONI’S DUMBO — NEW YORK CITY There are plenty of gorgeous restaurants in the Big Apple, but you’ll always hear Cecconi’s Dumbo mentioned among the best. Located in Brooklyn Bridge Park, your table might have dramatic views of the bridge or a waterfront view of the Manhattan skyline. It’s the best possible pairing with their classic Italian menu, complete with handmade pasta and high-end ingredients from Italy.

THE FRENCH LAUNDRY — YOUNTVILLE, CALIFORNIA If there’s a contest for the best food and views offered by a restaurant in America, this three-star Michelin restaurant just might place first. Run by Thomas Keller, its rustic, cottage-like setting in Napa Valley always turns heads with its surprisingly sophisticated design (as well as its exclusive tasting menus!). The restaurant’s gardens are beautifully lit and dotted with Japanese maple trees — a sight that will blow you away. Most people can have a good meal at home, so if you have the time and money, why not pay a little extra for a nice view? Go ahead and indulge. We won’t judge — we’ll even be a little jealous!
