Dream Big and Dream Often Our Aspirations Are What Grant Us Success “I have a dream that one day every valley shall be exalted, and every hill and mountain shall be made low, the rough places will be made plain, and the crooked places will be made straight; and the glory of the Lord shall be revealed and all flesh shall see it together.” –Martin Luther King Jr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” speech is one of the most memorable speeches in all of American history. It was empowering and helped to change our world for the better. This month, 59 years ago, he stood on the steps of

It’s up to me to ensure that they make good money, can take vacation, and are able to lead great lives to feel the fulfillment they deserve. If I’m invested in their dreams and futures, then my goal, too, is fulfilled. Aug. 5 is also Work Like a Dog Day, a day to honor those who go the extra mile and who don’t quit until the job is done. I am that guy — I work like a dog, and I’ve always been that way. I think I get it from my parents because they

Many years ago, my dream was to work for myself and develop a business that does good for others as well as supports my family. And while I’m proud of

taught me early on that if you ever want to do anything in life other than what you’re doing at this very moment, you must put in the hard work. Some people work their entire lives and have no idea what they enjoy doing and thus never figure out how to do something that they are truly passionate about. For me, I’m a car guy, and that’s

how far I’ve come, I still have a long way to go to maintain Quality Plus Automotive and continue to improve the company, myself, and my employees to provide the best possible service for our customers. One of the things that I’ve come to realize is that as just one person, you can only do so much by yourself — teamwork makes the dream work. Early on in my career, I realized that without good employees, I’d never be able to fulfill my dream. Today, I have a great team that works hard every day, and my priority is to see to it that they have the tools

what I was always meant to do. I truly believe that I was put here on Earth to fix things, which is both a blessing and a curse at the same time, for sometimes, it’s all that I think about. We all need dreams to keep us aligned and on track, but we must be willing to do what it takes to get there. Most importantly, we must always have a dream in mind that’s bigger than the one we’re working on right now.

4 COMMON FINANCIAL SCAMS TO AVOID

From dating swindles to Bitcoin and cryptocurrency hoaxes, it’s hard to tell the difference between honest offers and scams. Even worse, scams are becoming more creative every day. Here’s a list of some of the most common financial scams to be aware of. Cryptocurrency Scams Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies have taken the world by storm. Because many people don’t understand how cryptocurrency works, it’s easy for cybercriminals to pull a fast one — or attempt to, anyway. To trick unsuspecting victims, scammers set up fake websites that mimic legitimate cryptocurrency platforms. These sites then either urge you to make investments or they will steal your information outright. Fraudulent Retailers On social media websites, you may have noticed suspicious online stores featuring deals that are too good to be true. At checkout, instead of being directed to a trusted third-party payment process, these merchants may ask for wire transfers or gift cards. Some of these online stores might not even provide contact information!

Your temperature gauge has been climbing and climbing, and now you’re stuck with a possibly overheating engine because heat isn’t able to escape the engine compartment. Now what? Your next steps are important! Pull over. If you continue driving with an overheating engine, you could do some serious damage to other components of your car. After you are

Work-From-Home Scams As working from home has recently become the norm for many, this hoax has become even easier for criminals to pull off. Cybercriminals will contact you, stating you can make hundreds of dollars a week doing nothing more than shopping online as a mystery shopper or another enticing task. They will then tell you that to get started, you’ll need to pay upfront for training materials — but once you do, you’ll never hear from them again. As a general rule of thumb, stay clear of any offers that seem too good to be true. Likewise, avoid transactions that don’t use a trusted third-party merchant, and always do your research! If something seems off, trust your instincts! In today’s world, you never know what hoaxes exist!

What Was That? 5 Vehicle Noises to Address Right Away Have you ever considered just how many parts make up your vehicle? It’s estimated that the average vehicle contains 30,000 different parts that all work together to get you to your destination safely and comfortably. So, it makes sense that some of these parts will require attention, servicing, and/or replacing. Oftentimes, the first indication that something may be wrong under the hood is a funky noise. Here are five noises that require immediate attention. Squealing and Grinding Most commonly, if you are hearing squealing or grinding, it’s coming from your brakes, and as you know, brakes are nothing to mess with! It’s important that you get the vehicle checked out immediately and that you don’t continue to drive with faulty brakes because that can be extremely dangerous if they fail while you’re on the road.

ecklist WHAT TO DO IF YOUR CAR OVERHEATS

safely pulled over, turn the vehicle off. If your vehicle offers roadside assistance, call as soon as possible!

Turn off your A/C and crank the heat! This sounds like a joke, but it’s not! Your air conditioner will stress out your engine even more, so by turning on your car’s heating component, you can draw warmth away from your car’s engine and into the passenger cabin. Sometimes, this can be enough to cool down your engine. Check your coolant levels. After waiting at least 15 minutes after the vehicle has been turned off, check your coolant level. Cover the radiator cap with a towel or shirt (never touch it with a bare hand!) and push down and loosen it slightly while the pressure releases (coolant expands when heated). If your vehicle is low on coolant and you have some on hand, slowly add it, filling to the fill line. Get a tow or drive to a service station. Depending on whether your car cools off enough to drive, you will need to make the decision if it is safe to drive to the nearest service station or if your car requires a tow. If your car is still steaming or if temperatures begin to climb again once you resume driving, pull over immediately!

Squealing sometimes signals that a belt or two may need to be replaced as well.

Hissing Hissing can be caused by several different things, such as an overheated engine, a leaking vacuum, fluid leaks, or a plugged catalytic converter. In any case, it’s important to recognize that hissing noises are never good, so if you hear it, have the car checked immediately! Knocking Knock knock! Who’s there? It’s your car telling you to take it into the shop! Knocking noises come from the ignition and are produced when fuel is present inside the cylinder, indicating poor spark plugs, faulty distributor caps, bad fuel injectors, or ignition complications. Popping It can be scary to be just driving along and hear a loud POP! Engine exhaust leaks are usually the culprit, but it could also just be a dirty air filter. In any case, this noise is nothing to sleep on, and it’s important to get your vehicle in to see your trusted mechanic as soon as possible! Rumbling Rumbling can occur for a variety of reasons, but it commonly points to the muffler. When your vehicle has muffler problems, fuel could potentially leak into the car’s cabin. If the rumbling is combined with vehicle shaking, this could also mean that a spark plug has gone bad and the engine’s cylinders are misfiring.

Choosing Joy Every Day 3 WAYS TO FOSTER A POSITIVE ATTITUDE

In today’s society, we are faced with tragic stories and upsetting information, no matter where we turn. This can quickly lead us to a negative mindset where we believe things can’t be fixed and will only get worse, so it’s even more important now to establish a positive mindset. Surround yourself with positive people. The people we associate with play a huge role in our mental well-being. If you’re constantly around people who put you down or tell you that you can’t accomplish certain things, you will feel worse about yourself — or even believe them. You need to block the negative people from your life and surround yourself with those who think optimistically.

But doing so is easier said than done. If you’re unsure where to begin, try out some of these methods to help you get started.
