Radnor House

Welcome from the Founder

Our Values

The Role

Person Specification

Application Process

Our school was founded in 2011 on the belief that education must nurture, encourage and celebrate children. At Radnor House today, you will find a dynamic mix of high academic standards, exceptional pastoral care and expansive opportunities for pupils, all housed within an innovative and hugely successful environment in a beautiful setting on the bank of the River Thames. Our boys and girls are happy, accomplished and driven, and Radnor House is fast becoming one of the most dynamic and exciting schools in the area. At each step of the way, we stretch, challenge and engage our pupils through an outstanding curriculum, encouraging them to consider and respond to all of their learning and reflect upon their experiences. Young people need knowledge and skills, but they also need more - to develop the habits of mind which will enable them to become adaptive, responsive and caring adults, ready and confident to take their place in society.

“Loving and warm, less frenetic than some of its neighbour schools but no less stimulating for it. Happy children do well: a cliché now, but in reality much harder to achieve than it sounds. Competitive A*-seekers and champion goalscorers should look elsewhere - we found pupils, parents, staff and leadership working together to build a school that provides something a bit different. Radnor may not yet be a name that’s dropped at dinner parties, but given the collective satisfaction of parents who have discovered it, it can only be a matter of time.” - The Good Schools Guide, 2020

At Radnor House

We provide an active learning environment for limitless minds.

We celebrate every individual.

Our core values are courage, excellence, perseverance and respect.

Vision

Our pupils will be inspired and challenged through wide-ranging co-curricular opportunities, and supported by outstanding pastoral care to help them develop into fulfilled and successful young adults with high self-esteem. Our partnership with parents will provide the best possible opportunities for the pupils, and the school will seek to develop its awareness of, and contribution to, the local and broader community. Radnor House will seek to be a community of learners who contribute to the wider field of education.

Our vision is for Radnor House to be an independent school that is fully co-educational for children from 9-18, where every child is individually known, valued and exceptionally well educated in a genuinely caring, nurturing environment. Our pupils will achieve academic success within a secure and happy environment, where teachers promote the highest standards of learning as critically self-reflective individuals who constantly seek to improve professional practice, and where our support staff create, maintain and deliver the professional structures and environments for pupils to achieve their best.

“In 2015, I founded Dukes Education. The beginning of the Dukes story is simple. I wanted to do something I love, and I love developing young people. I’ve been inspired by many individuals throughout my involvement in finance, the military and sport. Growing up with dyslexia meant I had to find my own way to succeed – but the encouragement and support of my family and school was crucial. I wanted to give others the chance to be successful against the odds and in the face of obstacles.

On every publication, email or letter from Dukes Education, you will see a small crown next to our name. When Dukes began, we decided to use a sign that expressed everything we wanted the company to be. The Dukes crown symbolises our ambition to be at the absolute top of the education sector – a mark of recognised quality. It also symbolises the ambition of our students and parents. They come to us for schooling, guidance and expertise because, in their own way, they want to build a ‘crown’ of achievement themselves. Our mission is to be the best at helping them to do this. Everything we do at Dukes is driven by a strong desire to nurture young people so they can achieve their true potential. I am so excited for our future. We are in a privileged position: we have a unique opportunity to create dreams and inspire excellence in our students. Only time will tell what lies ahead but we will continue to evolve and have fun while we create and inspire!

Welcome to Dukes Education.”

Aatif Hassan

Founded in 2015, Dukes Education is a collection of the UK’s finest nurseries, schools and colleges, as well as summer schools and consultancy services — all united in their passion for nurturing students and helping them thrive. We are highly selective about which schools and organisations join us. Our family is small and close knit, which we carefully curate to ensure there is harmony amongst our teams. Being part of the Dukes family means we can all come together to share experience and expertise, supporting each other to achieve the extraordinary. There’s power in the collective, our results are outstanding, but there’s more to us than that. Our students benefit from constant sharing of best practice; developing culturally and socially, whilst enjoying a rounded education.

Our four core values are not just words: they underpin everything we do.

Courage we expect everyone to try their best, to have a go and to be brave in their approach to all the challenges of school and the wider world. Excellence we ask everyone to be the most excellent version of themselves, able to look themselves in the eye in the mirror every day and to know they could not have done any more. Perseverance we need to be able to persevere in order to achieve things, to maintain a growth mindset and not give up when the going gets tough. Respect we must treat each other with respect and kindness at all times, regardless of who we are or wherever our talents or weakness lie.

“Very clear ethos, underpinned by four core values – courage, excellence, perseverance and respect. We were pleased that everybody either referred to them or was able to recite them without batting an eyelid”. - The Good School Guide, 2020
