MY FIRST DAY EVER PUNCHING THE TIME CLOCK THE WONDERS OF A SUMMER JOB Nobody forgets their first real job. While some of us may have made a few bucks here and there for doing extra yard work or babysitting our younger siblings, earning a paycheck for your work sticks out the most. I was 15 when I decided to start punching the time clock. It was the summer after my freshman year in high school, so I felt like I was mentally ready — I was also ready for a little extra spending money, too! “I began to understand the complexities of friendships with coworkers, the professional communication required during conversations with superiors, and the best ways to help patients who look to you for guidance and advice.”
While I wasn’t reporting directly to my dad, the people I did report to were welcoming
and eager to teach, which I appreciated. As a teen, I’d, of course, been in medical offices before, but I never really understood the overall operations or what all goes into making an office function. I also got to see what a prototypical American workday looked like and all the nuances associated with it. I began to understand the complexities of friendships with coworkers, the professional communication required during conversations with superiors, and the best ways to help patients who look to you for guidance and advice. It was certainly a necessary and educational growing experience for me. was receiving my very first paycheck. I remember being so excited to tear into that envelope and see the financial fruits of my hard labor. But when I flipped over my check, I had the fun experience of learning what taxes were for the first time. Fortunately, my dismay didn’t linger long. I Another interesting (albeit somewhat frustrating) part of this learning experience
My dad was a doctor, so I found a job working at his office in the records
department. While first days on the job are important and usually fairly nerve-wracking, I don’t actually remember my first day at this job. Since I was a little girl, I visited my father at the office, so I was already familiar with the staff who worked there and the building itself, which was really fortunate because I felt at ease walking through the doors for the first time as a hired employee. People sometimes ask me if it was strange working for my dad. But since I was hard at work in the records department going through charts, shelving them, or finding the records patients needed for future appointments, I always felt like I was working for the office rather than for my dad individually.
took what was left of my check and ventured out to buy my mom a birthday gift. I still remember that I ended up getting her a cute shirt and pair of pants, and I was proud to have been able to purchase them myself. While my first day on the clock might not have been as anxiety-inducing as many others, I’m glad I had the opportunity to learn the inner workings of the office setting as such a young age. Who knows? Maybe it’s helped me get my own office running smoothly, too!

A LOOK AT EYEBROW TRENDS THROUGH TIME SOMETHING TO RAISE YOUR BROWS ABOUT
People spend a lot of money and time on perfecting their eyebrows. They’re plucked, tweezed, thinned, trimmed, painted on, tattooed, or filled in — all in an attempt to create the ideal fullness and shape. The variety of tools out there, including brushes, spoolies, needles, and ink, hint at our brow-obsessed world. A look at brow trends through history reveals that humans have given this facial feature special attention for centuries. 1600S PERSIA AND INDIA: THREADING This precise method for grooming brows is thought to have originated in ancient Persia, where women used thread to remove specific hairs. Threading often marked a female’s transition into womanhood. It was also practiced in India and the Middle East. 1920S AND ’30S U.S.: BIG SCREEN READY Take a look at a movie from the 1920s and you’ll notice thin, drawn-on brows with little arch, a la Marlene Dietrich. In the ’30s, Greta Garbo bucked this trend and rocked a fuller arched look. ’40S AND ’50S: EMBRACING STRONG AND SOFT Brows began their ascendance to a fuller, softer state thanks to the influence of Katharine Hepburn. In the ’50s, Audrey Hepburn built on that look and embraced a strong, thick brow.
drawn-on styles of Twiggy and Sophia Loren, this time period saw brow shapes as polarizing as political standings.
TODAY: FULL AND PROUD OF IT Still recovering from the ultrathin styles of the ’90s, many are getting those overplucked brows restored, shaped, and thickened by beauty experts. Some people have turned to microblading, which uses a special tool to make tiny, hairlike cuts in the brow which are then flushed with pigment for an even fuller look.
If the current trend ever reverses and you’re tempted to pluck away, remember that eyebrows are there for a reason: They keep sweat, rain, and moisture out of your eyes, and they are also

important for creating different facial expressions. So, whatever the current trend, embrace your brows!

NOT QUITE FEELING LIKE YOURSELF? Hormones govern your body in some obvious, and not-so-obvious, ways, which only become clear when your hormone levels become imbalanced. In years past, imbalances primarily stemmed from menopause. But stress caused by a lack of sleep, coupled with all the added toxins both in the environment and in our food, can result in imbalances in anyone over the age of 20. While everyone reacts differently to declining hormone levels, here are some general symptoms to watch out for. For women : Weight gain, thinning hair, lack of energy, vaginal dryness, hot flashes, lowered libido, sleep issues, cognitive difficulty, and loss of bone mass.
team will start by doing blood tests to detect the imbalances and then determine the optimal way to adjust those hormones through BHRT.
Most importantly, here at Regenerative Sport Spine and Spa, we use hormone supplements that are plant-based and
natural to the body. Hormones that you would get from a women’s health clinic are typically synthetic and contain ingredients that cause potentially dangerous reactions in the body. Since the pills and pellets we use are natural and chemically identical to the ones already housed in your body, you’re able to enjoy their benefits with much less potential harm. If you’re just not feeling quite like yourself, it’s worth having Dr. Cherukupally check your hormone levels to see if that is the cause. Schedule your appointment by calling our office today!
For men : Loss of muscle mass, erectile dysfunction, lowered libido, increase in fat, thinning hair, and mood changes.
Thanks to Dr. Cherukupally, you don’t have to live with these symptoms forever. Through the use of bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT), you can use chemically identical, NATURAL hormones to replace the ones you’re missing. Once you make an appointment, our

AND IMPROVE YOUR BALANCE TAKE A BREAK FROM READING ... Since we’ve given you lots of material to read already, why don’t you take a quick break? But don’t just sit there. Use this break as an opportunity to sculpt your triceps! While biceps tend to get a lot of attention, your triceps are equally as important. Luckily, there’s a simple (albeit difficult) exercise you can try right at your chair. Put your hands to the edge of the chair, shoulder-width apart. 2. Slide your bottom off the chair, and hold yourself up with arms straight. 3. While keeping your back close to the chair, slowly bend at the elbows and go as low as you can. 4. Return to the starting position. 5. Repeat. Tricep Dip: 1.

4. 3 Things Everyone Needs to Know Before Swimming in Open Water
SUMMER SWIMMING SAFETY 3 TIPS FOR SWIMMING IN OPEN WATER
There’s nothing like taking a dip in a nearby pond, lake, or even the ocean. For many, it’s a summertime tradition. However, swimming in open bodies of water brings certain safety risks, as these environments are not nearly as controlled as public, club, or backyard pools. Everyone should follow these tips to have a fun and safe time cooling off under the summer sun. NEVER SWIM ALONE. When you swim in virtually any body of water, having someone there to keep an eye on you can be a lifesaver: the more people, the better. Stick to bodies of water with a professional lifeguard on duty when possible, though that’s not always an option. When swimming in open bodies of water, have a “designated spotter” to keep an eye on the swimmers. This way, you’re prepared if anything bad happens. It’s also a great idea to keep flotation devices nearby, such as life jackets, life rings, foam boards, etc. KNOWWHAT YOU’RE GETTING INTO. Sometimes, it’s next to impossible to see what’s under the surface of the water. If you are unfamiliar with a body of water, don’t jump or dive in without knowing how deep it is. If you cannot confirm what is under the surface (and the spot is not a known diving location), don’t risk it. It may be okay to swim or wade, but jumping is out of the question. Along these same lines, be VERY careful around bodies of slow-moving or standing water. These can house dangerous microbes and other contaminants
that can make you ill and potentially be deadly.
WATCH FOR RIP CURRENTS. These can occur at any
beach without warning. They pull swimmers away from shore and are strong enough that even excellent swimmers
struggle to get through them. In fact, rip currents are behind nearly 80% of beach
rescues. Keep an eye on the foam at the surface of the water. If it seems to suddenly pull away from the beach, there’s a good chance a rip current is lurking beneath. If you find yourself in a rip current, it’s crucial to remain calm and avoid expending energy swimming directly back to shore. Instead, try swimming parallel to the shore until you’re out of the current.
