What is Rotary?

Rotary International (RI)

a worldwide service organization whose purpose is to provide humanitarian service and advance goodwill and peace around the world

a non-political and non-religious organization open to all

encourages high ethical standards in member’s personal and professional lives The Object of Rotary is to foster the ideal of service as exemplified by Rotary’s motto “ Service Above Self ”

Opportunities for service - local and international Fellowship, collaboration, and fun Access to community and business leaders Development of leadership skills and networking opportunities Access to funds for service projects through The Rotary Foundation

60 clubs with nearly 3,000 members in the Front Range and mountains to work with on service projects

Rotary Club

A club should meet at least twice a month (including service projects and club socials)

Clubs pay dues to the district and RI for their support and operations

Per person RI and district dues total about $120 annually

Contributions to The Rotary Foundation are optional but strongly encouraged

Rotary Club

Clubs decide their meeting times & locations

Clubs elect their slate of officers and decide their service priorities/focus

Clubs establish bylaws and a constitution which guide all club operations

Application submitted to RI by the sponsor club and new club

Club Types

Traditional meets weekly with a meal, program/speaker Corporate members work primarily for same employer Cause-based members are passionate about a cause & focus service efforts in that area E-Club meets primarily online by virtual platform Passport members attend meetings of other clubs Satellite autonomous but part of an existing club
