ROOMS HYGIENE AND DISINFECTION (RHD) PROGRAM
As mentioned in our last edition of Recommends Newsletter, the Shangri-La Academy and HQ Rooms team have collaboratively developed a blended learning program – Rooms Hygiene and Disinfection (RHD) Program which aims to provide knowledge on new SOPs to meet the safety and hygiene guidelines. The whole program consists of 3 phases .
PHASE 1: EXECUTIVE HOUSEKEEPER ASSESSMENT
A total of 99 Executive Housekeepers from all our Shangri-La hotels in the world participated in the first phase of the RHD Program. They attended a virtual learning session facilitated in collaboration with Diversey. Upon the learning session, a Post Learning Assessment was administered to measure the levels of knowledge acquired on the new SOPs for housekeeping. 98% of the participants passed the assessment.
PHASE 2: FACE-TO-FACE WORKSHOP BY DIVERSEY
In phase 2, multiple face to face workshops were facilitated by a representative of Diversey and the Executive Housekeepers across our hotels. The target audience were our front-line colleagues in housekeeping and public areas . Once the workshops were completed all the attendees completed a paper and pen assessment related to the content of the workshop. 91 hotels have already completed this phase, ensuring that our front-line colleagues are prepared with the most updated information on steps to disinfect the hotels rooms and facilities.
PHASE 3: VALIDATION BY L&D MANAGERS (COMING)
The phase 3 requires for our Learning & Development Managers to conduct observational assessments at random on the colleagues who participated in the face to face workshops. The purpose of this phase is to validate the application of the learning into the actual job. This phase is conducted 7 to 14 days after the face to face workshops and the results are reported back to the HQ Rooms Team for analysis.
Should you have any enquiries regarding the RHD Program, please reach out to Joshua Masillamoney, VP Rooms at [email protected] or Jude Medida, AVP Rooms at [email protected].
