Plan today for peace of mind tomorrow. JUNE 2022
IT’S GRADUATION SEASON SET GOALS AND BELIEVE IN YOURSELF
The month of June is often an exciting time in many people’s lives. Over the past few weeks and into the next, high school and college students will be taking their next steps after graduation. High school seniors will be preparing to go to college or head into the workforce, while college graduates will take their first steps into the professional world. Graduation is a sign of completion and is often the first major accomplishment that we achieve in our lives. I like to consider myself a completionist and have found that I’m very accomplishment-driven. It doesn’t necessarily have to be an educational- driven accomplishment or acknowledgment either. The simple act of setting a goal, making a plan to complete it, and putting that plan into action until the goal has been accomplished helps me feel incredibly productive. Goal- setting can be highly beneficial in our day-to-day lives. When was the last time you truly felt accomplished? If it’s been some time, are you still setting goals and working toward completing them? I’m always working toward my next goal. Once I meet it, I quickly set another so I can continue to work toward improving myself or my business. If you find yourself feeling unaccomplished on a daily basis, try setting some goals and see if your focus and motivation improve. If your goal is to pursue higher education, then definitely give it a try. I’m a huge believer in higher education and think that it is a great investment in yourself if you feel it is what you’d like to do! When you graduate and earn your degree, the experience is something that nobody can ever take away
from you. For example, you can’t lose a degree in a divorce. It’s your own personal achievement and accomplishment.
I think that most everyone has something to gain by attending an institute for higher education, but it can mean even more for women. Pursuing education gives you self-sufficiency; you can be independent if you need to be. After earning my degree, I didn’t have to depend on anyone else. That’s why I think higher education can help many other women feel more confident in themselves. I often hear women say that they don’t believe in themselves and would not succeed if they pursued their dreams. Sometimes they refer to college; other times, it is another dream. There’s nothing particularly extraordinary or special about me, and if I was able to succeed with higher education while following my dreams, anyone can do the same. You simply have to make important decisions. Is it something you want to achieve? If so, make a plan to get it done!
June is a big month for graduation and starting a new chapter. If you feel that your book is a few pages too short, consider chasing your dreams and pursuing something you’ve always wanted to do. Remember your passions. If you set the proper goals, you can accomplish anything you put your mind to.
