CASE STUDY PRINCE HALL Birmingham, AL | July 2022| $29 M

The Prince Hall Masonic Lodge Temple project in Birmingham, AL consists of 67,000 SL across 7-stories that has historically been, and will continue to be offices, event space and innovation center. The building is part of the Birmingham Civil Rights National Monument. Reference the Historic Structures Report for more information. The approach to the rehabilitation of the building takes careful account of the historic spaces and strives to keep key spaces intact as possible while introducing modern systems. The project will strive to be one of the healthiest building in Birmingham pursuing both Fitwel and LEED certifications.

CASE STUDY RUSSELL CENTER Atlanta, GA | March 2022| $7 M

The Russell Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (RCIE), will be the largest center in the country, driven by community impact, devoted to empowering African American entrepreneurs and small business owners. The RCIE will be part incubator, part accelerator, part innovation lab, and event part museum. The RCIE will offer access to place and space, resources, networks, mentorship, technical assistance, and education. The project includes mezzanine learning spaces, new atrium entrance, high-tech nano-wall collaborative spaces, outdoor learning terrace, rooftop bio-garden, building envelope remediation, system upgrades, solar panels, LEED and Fitwel certifications for sustainability and healthy building.

Budget $7 Million

Schedule Completion March 2022 Phase 1 of the project is complete. It was completed within budget and schedule. The next two phases are going through value engineering and will start April 2021.

Experience / Capabilities A proven leader in the green building movement, Randall is Co-founder and Principal of The Dragon Group (TDG). TDG is a full-service firm specializing in sustainability, green building consulting, and construction project management; he is passionate about greening the built environment. He has over 22 years of experience managing a diverse portfolio of projects including oŽce, aviation, mixed-use, higher education, and multifamily. Randall has developed sustainability guidelines and strategies for various clients and has worked on over 45 LEED projects totally more than 4.5MM SF including clients such as Keysight, Atlanta Fulton County Library System, Wells Fargo, Diageo, Hilton, Blue Cross Blue Shields, Microsoft, The Integral Group, and many more. Previously to The Dragon Group, Randall was a Vice President leading Jones Lang LaSalle's (JLL) Sustainability Practice for the Southeast Region growing that business line to the 2nd most profitable sustainability practice in the country.

Education and Affiliations

Randall obtained a Bachelor of Science in Building Construction from the University of Florida and a Master of Business Administration from Clark Atlanta University. He is LEED® accredited professional and a licensed contractor in the state of Georgia. He is a board member on The Green Building Learning Collaborative at the University of Florida. Randall is a member of the Leadership Buckhead class of 2014, a member of ENR’s Southeast Top 20 under 40 Class of 2014, and a member of the Urban Land Institute Center for Leadership class of 2016.
