loop between what the sensors are sending in and the brain is sending out. Almost like turning the radio dial one number off, were you can still hear and understand the music, but it echoes a lot of static. This causes difficulty activating, or “firing”, a muscle optimally. Tensional integrity refers to the balance of forces within your body. Optimal tensional integrity is when every structure is working together in perfect harmony pulling or pushing as much or as little as it needs to at just the right time to create efficient movement and/ or ideal posture. If something is OFF, it affects the entire body to a certain degree, but can affect the immediate area at higher and more noticeable level. So improving this aspect is tantamount to ensuring that all cylinders of the musculoskeletal engine are firing correctly. So, how can all of this potentially benefit a person experiencing low back pain? Well starting from the top, an improvement in tissue glide allows the tissues in your back to move and flow, restriction free. This, along with a decrease of densification, decreases the amount of tension the free nerve endings are under to reduce pain and sensitivity. Simply stated, with better mobility and better feedback between the brain and nervous system, you can begin to strengthen the areas which may have initially contributed to the problem causing your current levels of low back pain. Assuming that the low back pain isn’t the result of a deeper, more serious issue, it is likely that the FSTT approach will provide some degree of relief to the afflicted person.

Functional Soft Tissue Transformation (FSTT) is a system that combines a manual load or force to the tissues of the body with motion (both assisted and unassisted) to enhance interlayer glide, alter sensors, improve tensional integrity. Wow… that was a lot! Let’s simplify things a bit. FSTT is the application of pressure using an external apparatus (hands, massage tools etc.) while performing various joint movements for the purpose of decreasing dysfunction so that you can move better and feel better doing it. Interlayer Glide is basically the movement of tissues around and along each other. Consider that the “tissues” of your body are comprised of many different parts interwoven together. First, you have several layers of skin. Under (and between) these layers of skin, you have your fascia (connective tissue) and then you have your muscles (along with its tendons) and your of course, your ligaments. ALL of these structures have to “glide” smoothly and seamlessly around, over and through one another in order to produce efficient movement, and decrease pain symptoms. To alter sensors simply means, to change the way a sensor transmits a signal to your central nervous system. Over time and for a variety of reasons, densification (a sort of stiffening or thickening) of certain tissues can: 1. Put free nerve endings under tension, which can cause pain. 2. Cause a sort of disruption in the feedback

I have had numerous treatments and therapy over the years, but nothing seemed to work. I finally had a surgery, but I still needed a lot of help. I couldn’t sleep, walk or even sit without pain. After working with Amy for 3 or 4 visits, I already felt a vast improvement. I have been able to return to normal life, with no back pain. I am even able to enjoy playing with my grandson, and have been able to resume my active lifestyle. I can’t thank Trademark enough for the difference they have made in my life.“ -S.M.
