INTRODUCTION

The University of Reading is seeking to appoint to the key post of Director, Maintenance Services to lead estates maintenance, infrastructure management and grounds management across the University’s operational estate portfolio. To support the world-class activities the University has large-scale and diverse operational estate, comprises an eclectic mix of buildings, infrastructure and land including teaching and learning facilities, a broad range of research facilities, innovation & enterprise space, social space, sport facilities and residential accommodation. Reporting to the Director of Estates, the Director, Maintenance Services is responsible for strategic and operational leadership of building and infrastructure maintenance, maintenance projects, grounds maintenance and estates business systems. Taking leadership responsibility for a multi-disciplinary in-house team and external delivery partners, you will lead a strategic programme planning forward maintenance investment and ensure the University estate portfolio complies with relevant estate, built environment, safety and environmental legislation and best practice. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced estates professional to lead maintenance provision across a diverse university campus portfolio on behalf of a renowned education institution.
