You will have ability to manage resources, including people management, financial management and supply chain management, and will be adept at working successfully with a diverse range of stakeholder groups at a senior level within a large, complex organisation. The Estate

Today, the University is made up of three main campuses – City Campus, Frenchay and Glenside.

Frenchay Campus opened in 1975 and now consists of 72 non-residential build- ings and 3,149 residential bed spaces, set on a site of 60.4 ha (including the Enterprise Park). This is the largest of our campuses and is home to the Faculty of Business and Law, the Faculty of Engineering & Technology, the Faculty of Health and Applied Sciences and the Faculty of Arts, Creative Industries and Education. It is the main hub for professional services and the Vice Chancellor’s Office.

The campus is also home to UWEBIC International College, a collaboration with Kaplan College. The City Campus provides space for the Faculty of Arts, Creative Industries and Education.

Glenside Campus is set in 9.7 ha consisting mainly of Grade II listed buildings and grounds.

An attractive campus with an interesting history, it is home to the Faculty of Health and Applied Sciences.

Estate Strategy

The Campus 2020 Estate Strategy set the strategic direction in line with the University’s Strategy 2020. This emphasised the importance of estate and infrastructure as a key enabler in delivering UWE’s strategic priorities.

To support the progress of the above priorities, a £300m capital programme was created for the period 2014 to 2020. The early part of this programme (2014 to 2018) saw the highest levels of investment and development activity (estimated at £175m) on campus, in the University’s recent history. We are now embarking on the development of a 2030 Estate Strategy to build on the successes of the Campus 2020 Strategy and to address the challenges for the scale and standard of estate provision required to support the University’s ambitions over the next decade. Key drivers over the next decade include significant refurbishment of the older elements of the Frenchay Campus estate, development of the Enterprise Zone to create a world-leading enterprise campus, improvements to the public realm across our estate and further development of high-quality student accommodation.

Job context Responsible for all major and capital projects to the University, to lead the Project Management function for the Service and to work in partnership with faculties and other services to implement the University’s aims and objectives. Job purpose Create and deliver Project Management strategies to ensure a quality service level is delivered by Estates to the wider University. Create and maintain internal and external customer relationships, manage feedback and satisfaction to ensure constant improvement across Estates Project Management. The role will undertake performance management, partnership building, critical analytical thinking and time critical decision making. 9. Professional Leadership Act as the senior adviser to the Director of Estates on relevant issues, ensuring that professional knowledge is kept up to date and benchmarked favourably against good practice within comparable organisations. Produce and present reports, presentations and other communications and promotional material to University boards and committees as required. To deputise for the Director of Estates at Facilities and Estates Executive meetings and other meetings as requested by the DoE. 10. Service Delivery Develop a strategy to create and embed a culture of customer service excellence with a proactive approach to improving service delivery, review and act on customer feedback and performance issues to identify and resolve root cause issues. Oversee the implementation of initiatives to maximise the impact on student and University life. To be responsible for customer perception and understanding of Estates project management, potential and actual service interruptions, monitoring and clarifying areas where the service will not meet customer expectation or needs. Lead on the development of project mobilisation strategies, policies and procedures to ensure project, faculty and departmental business continuity and a seamless transition from hand-over to occupation.
