Evansville Museum of Arts & Sciences The Evansville Museum of Arts, History & Science houses a permanent collection of more than 30,000 objects, including fine and decorative art, as well as historic, anthropological, and natural history artifacts. Over twenty temporary, regional and international exhibitions are displayed each year in four galleries. The Koch Immersive Theater houses a 40- foot diameter domed screen with 360-degree digital projection featuring astronomy and science programming. Angel Mounds Cross Country Course & Trails - Angel Mounds Historic Site

Located on the banks of the Ohio River in southwest Indiana, Angel Mounds State Historic Site is one of the best-preserved, pre-contact Native American sites in North America. Built between A.D. 1000 and 1450, the town was occupied by more than 1,000 people who were part of the Mississippian culture, and included earthen mounds built to elevate important buildings.

Bosse Field Home to the Evansville Otters of the Independent Frontier League. Bosse Field opened in 1915 and was the first municipally owned sports facility in the United States. Only Boston’s Fenway Park (1912) and Chicago’s Wrigley Field (1914) are older than Evansville’s Bosse Field. It is the site for the filming of “A League of Their Own” in 1992. Whether you’re a sports fan or a history buff, this 100-year-old stadium for America’s favorite pastime is a must see! Koch Family Children’s Museum of Evansville Housed in an historic building on 5th street Downtown, “cMoe” features three floors of engaging exhibits to inspire play based learning. Evansville African American Museum Located in one of the nation’s first housing projects built in 1938 under President Roosevelt’s New Deal Program, Lincoln Gardens was an independent, thriving community with black doctors, lawyers, business owners and educators. The EAAM celebrates the struggles, successes and experiences of the African American culture in Evansville.

Evansville Wartime Museum

During WWII, our nation’s military went into battle with airplanes, ships, tanks and munitions manufactured here in Evansville. The museum is dedicated to celebrating the stories and achievements of those who were there along with the memorabilia they collect. Come see the WWII Evansville-built P-47, “Hoosier Spirit II”.

Mesker Park Zoo & Botanic Garden Extending over 45 acres, historic Mesker Park Zoo is home to more than 700 animals and is open 365 days a year! Pathways bloom and grow with local and exotic trees and plants. The crown jewel of the zoo is Amazonia- a walk through the wild expanse of the South American Rainforest. Encounter hundreds of animals representing species from around the globe.

Wesselman Woods This plot of old-growth forest is the largest tract of virgin, old-growth forest within any city limits in the United States. As an Indiana Nature Preserve and National Natural Landmark, Wesselman Woods is a surviving remnant of Southern Indiana’s original forests. Within the preserve, you will find one of the largest Nature Playscapes in the country.

Howell Wetlands As one of only five urban wetland parks in Indiana with fresh mulch and plentiful boardwalks, this is the perfect trail for all climates. Even though it is located in the city, it impressively showcases a diversity of wetland habitats across 35 acres of urban wetlands. USI Trails The University of Southern Indiana is home to miles of multi-use, scenic trails. The 14-acre campus is open to students and for public use.

Blue Grass Fish & Wildlife

Voted as the best sunset spot in Evansville by Evansville Living, this beautiful 2,532 acres of preserved wildlife area is the perfect spot to fish and hunt or canoe and watch the sunset.

The Greenway Passage Experience nearly 7 miles of 10-foot wide paved trails winding through downtown Evansville with views of Pigeon Creek and the Ohio River. The Passage connects neighborhoods, parks, business districts and nature areas.
