Dear friends,

From the beginning, impact has always been our North Star. To this we now add the word sustainable . As we look back on 2019 and head into the holiday season, we’re celebrating the impacts you’ve helped make possible that are setting the stage for sustainable change for generations. Together, we have taken an extraordinary journey to get to where we are today. From humble beginnings, starting in 1995 with a fight to end child labour, to building our first school in Nicaragua, to developing the WE Villages model to address the root causes of poverty, WE Charity has come a long way. Looking ahead to our upcoming 25th anniversary, we’re excited to work together with you to ensure this incredible impact continues into the future. We know that when people are given the right tools and resources, they achieve extraordinary things. Whether you’re a long-time supporter or just beginning your journey with us, we know that with your help, there’s no limit to the impact we can create together. By choosing to gift a donation from this catalogue, you’re not only bringing joy to your loved ones, but also making a sustainable impact to change lives in our partner communities.

From our family to yours, thank you for being part of our journey, for your continued generosity and for joining us to #GiftGood.

Wishing you a safe and happy holiday,

Your gift supports WE Villages, a proven model of holistic, sustainable development.

This holiday, your gift can change a life in one of five ways.

Your Health gift helps families access preventive health care, giving parents the tools to keep their children healthy and able to attend school. Unwrap Health

Poverty isn’t the result of a single cause. The issue is complex and rooted in a number of correlated social and economic obstacles. That’s why we created an international development model that addresses the five primary causes of poverty with holistic and sustainable solutions that transform communities. We call this program WE Villages—an adaptive, effective five-pillar model built on 20 years of experience collaborating with dedicated community members and international development experts. Every WE Charity donation you choose will change the life of a mother, a child or a family through one of the five WE Villages Pillars of Impact: empowering them with the tools to create a bright future, not just for themselves but for generations to come. On average, 90% of donations support world-changing programs.

Your Education gift helps students access basics like pencils, books and classrooms, ensuring they have all they need to succeed in school and empowering them to better themselves and their communities. Unwrap Education Your Water gift helps families avoid waterborne illnesses, allows girls to go to school instead of fetching water and helps provide sanitation facilities for schools, like latrines and handwashing stations. Unwrap Water

Your Food gift provides communities with access to sustainable sources of healthy, diversified food, fuelling growing minds and bright futures. Unwrap Food

Your Opportunity gift empowers women and men with financial tools and training, helping them earn a sustainable income and inspire their families and communities to lift themselves out of poverty. Unwrap Opportunity

We are proud of our world-class development model and humbled by the award-winning accomplishments of our organization and team:

Equip children and families with key resources to break the cycle of poverty: today and for generations to come. $50 Primary education for a child Millions of children globally aren’t getting the basic education necessary to lead their families out of poverty: but Charity, Gloria and Jackline are three sisters in rural Kenya determined to change the numbers. Keeping the taps on

Judy, a community leader in Oloirien, Kenya.

In Kenya’s Maasai Mara, Judy Toniok is among a group of enterprising com- munity members keeping a new borehole sustainable for the long haul. As part of a Water Management Committee, they help instill community ownership and are responsible for overseeing the health of the project—understanding their own challenges and how to solve them. The group of elected individuals meet once a week, always on the school grounds at the heart of the project. And as the school bell rings and students stream into the yard, they are surrounded by the genera- tion who will grow up seeing the committee in action—and drinking clean water.

“We are the ones who know the challenges of not having water, so we will make sure this project is well taken care of.”

—Judy Toniok, Water Management Committee Assistant Secretary

Gifts that create sustainable impact

With your transformational investment, you will empower a generation with the opportunity to create a brighter future.

$10,000 Build a classroom

For years, students in Chemagel, Kenya, struggled to access proper education. Their existing school was overcrowded with multiple classes sharing the same room, making it difficult for students to hear their teachers. Now, a newly built school is giving students the opportunity to get a quality education: equipping them with the knowledge and tools to create a bright future for themselves and the next generation. Your gift of a classroom equips children with the skills, knowledge and confidence to create a bright future for themselves and their community.

Read the story: A student in Chemagel, Kenya, where a newly built classroom is opening the door to a bright future.

Support a clean water system for a school $5 ,000 One of the keys to a thriving school campus? Clean water and sanitation. In developing communities, it is often girls’ responsibility to collect water for their family: a chore that can take hours, leaving no time for school. Your gift will help students access a clean water system at school: ensuring girls can collect safe water for their families on the way home from class, with time left to study, helping families stay healthy and helping schools irrigate vegetable gardens to supplement student lunches.

$1 ,000 Mobile health clinic

Without adequate access to health care providers, rural communities face higher maternal and childhood mortality rates and a lower life expectancy. Through services like mobile health clinics run by community health workers, WE Charity helps ensure even the most remote communities have access to the resources they need to stay healthy and thrive. Your gift will help provide direct access to health care services for a community, including general screening, basic and preventive treatment, health education and referrals for further care.

We’re happy to work with you to make a transformational gift through multiple payments or by supporting your fundraising goals. Please contact us today at 1-800-203-9091 ext. 1112 to discuss how you can make this life-changing gift!

SPOT L I GHT ON EDUCAT ION

Mercy, a Kisaruni Group of Schools graduate who is now studying Tourism and Hospitality at WE College.

Investing in education is key to breaking the cycle of poverty: but so many students don’t have the chance to study beyond primary school because of family obligations, early marriage and lack of access to schools and finances—in Kenya, while primary education is free, secondary education remains incredibly costly and largely out of reach. That’s why WE Charity opened the Kisaruni Group of Schools. Mercy is one student who defied the odds, convincing her father to let her attend secondary school after graduating from a WE primary school and being offered a Kisaruni scholarship. Four years later, she was one of the first to attend WE College in the School of Tourism and Hospitality. Your gift will invest directly in the potential of a student like Mercy, providing a full four-year scholarship that will empower them to lead their community to a bright future. You will be provided with a profile of the learner you’re supporting, school newsletters and special updates.
