Introducing a Valuable Asset to Our Firm

Spotlight on Attorney Joseph Pustizzi

At Whisler Law Firm, we are dedicated to providing the best service possible to our clients, and that includes expanding upon the ways we are able to help. We are proud to announce that we are adding a new practice area to the firm: real estate law! We’ve brought in a new attorney, Joseph Pustizzi, who is experienced in condominium association law, homeowners association law, real estate disputes, and civil litigation.

Joseph joins our firm with perfect timing as Florida Governor DeSantis just signed Senate bill 4-D into legislation in response to last year’s Surfside collapse tragedy, requiring condominium and cooperative associations to conduct milestone structural inspections and structural integrity reserve studies to keep all buildings safe for use and living. “This is a great way to hold condominium associations accountable for keeping their buildings safe and up to code,” Joseph says. “For Joseph, he thrives off of delivering great results for his clients.” For Joseph, he thrives off of delivering great results for his clients. He just concluded a three-day jury trial in which he represented the plaintiff, and while it was a hard-fought case, he was able to achieve favorable results for his client. Having the opportunity to help his clients during some of the most difficult times in their lives is his favorite aspect of his career. When Joseph isn’t working, he enjoys spending time with his two daughters and wife. His girls, ages 11 and 6, both have summer birthdays and have recently started summer camp. Together as a family, they enjoy getting into anything outdoors — especially hitting up the beach! For Joseph, the sun is therapeutic; after all, it is the Sunshine State! We are thrilled to welcome Joseph aboard and are excited to see the changes and new possibilities that he brings to Whisler Law Firm. Now, for all real estate disputes or condominium association law concerns and cases, Joseph Pustizzi is your guy! Call us today at 833-529-5677 for your free consultation! –Josh Whisler

Joseph is a Florida native who has resided in different parts of the state for his entire life — he’s one of the rare true locals! He obtained his bachelor of science degree in criminology and political science at Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida, and his Juris Doctor from Nova Southeastern University in Davie, Florida. For Joseph, the decision to enter the field of law did not come from the inspiration of someone he was close to. Instead, from an analytical and problem-solving standpoint, practicing law seemed like a profession he wanted to pursue as he grew up. With roughly 13 years of experience and having represented over 350 associations, Joseph is thrilled to join the Whisler Law Firm family. “Bringing this new practice area to Whisler Law Firm is an exciting opportunity and challenge. I can’t wait to expand my horizons and learn something new with the skills I’ve developed thus far in my career,” Joseph tells us. WHISLER LAW IS EXPANDING! Joseph Pustizzi has joined the Whisler Law Firm team and is bringing along a new practice area: real estate law! We will now be offering services in condominium association law, homeowners association law, and real estate disputes.

3 IMPORTANT LIFE SKILLS TO TEACH YOUR TEEN

Leaving the nest can be tough for young adults. There are so many things to remember, like making sure they have all the right supplies and remembering to keep important paperwork. So, before your child heads off to college, help them strengthen these three skills. How to Ask for Help Being capable starts with understanding what you need and asking for it. By having your child order their own food at a restaurant, make medical and dental appointments for themselves, and check out at the supermarket alone, you’ll be helping your child develop independence while encouraging them to take the lead. How to Seamlessly Get From Point A to Point B When your teen leaves the house, they’ll be traveling on their own on a bus, on a plane, by car, and by foot, so they’ll need to understand how to navigate airports, subway stations, bus hubs, and roads. Ask your child

to give you directions when describing how to get to the mall or have them even drive you there if they are licensed. This will reduce stress during solo travels, and they’re less likely to feel overwhelmed if plans unexpectedly change. How to Handle Emergencies When children are fairly young, they learn how to call 911 in the event of life-threatening and serious emergencies. But other emergencies tend to pop up in life that don’t necessarily warrant a call to the police. Show your child how to put on a spare tire, turn off utilities, patch a hole in clothing, and other basic but necessary skills so they don’t panic when something goes wrong in their dorm room or on the road. As a parent, it’s your job to teach your children the right skills to set them up for success and independence so they can take care of themselves when they finally go off on their own.

CELEBRATING WORLD LISTENING DAY THIS MONTH WHAT DID YOU SAY?

One of the greatest ways to show respect for others is by listening. But, when you’re listening, are you listening to respond or listening to understand? Sometimes, in the hustle and bustle of our daily lives, we may rush the true listening process. But it’s important to stop and really listen to the birds, the wind, and the actual meaning behind the words that others are saying. July 18 is World Listening Day, which celebrates the birthday of Canadian composer Raymond Murray Schafer, known as the founder of acoustic ecology, which studies the relationship between our environment and sound. It’s a day dedicated to raising awareness for the importance of listening to understand each other and the world around us.

encourages empathy in our interactions. It teaches us the importance of engaging and powerful communication and helps to deepen our friendships and relationships. In both personal and professional encounters, listening to others is the cornerstone of a solid relationship. As attorneys at Whisler Law Firm, we are dedicated to providing the very best service for our clients and that all begins with listening. In many situations, we see clients at some of the most challenging and trying times in their lives. Personal injury cases, car and motorcycle accidents, and workers’ compensation cases can be stressful and lending an actively listening ear to our clients is a priority. We are here to listen to understand and achieve the compensation that you deserve.

It all starts with lending an ear that is ready to really listen to understand and process the information. At Whisler Law Firm, we are always listening!

Listening builds trust, reduces misunderstandings, helps to eliminate and resolve conflict, and

How to Avoid the Most Common Types of Car Accidents

Accidents happen! With over 7.8 million registered vehicles in the state of Florida, we are bound to make mistakes — we are only human. However, there are many ways to prevent car accidents from taking place. Safe driving goes a long way! Here are two of the most common types of accidents and tips to avoid them! Rear-End Collisions Many accidents that occur on the road are fender benders and rear-end collisions. Whether you’re the driver getting hit from behind or hitting the vehicle in front of you, these can be avoided.

When behind the wheel, don’t take your eyes off the road to text, eat, apply makeup, or look at passengers in your back seat. It’s important to avoid distracted driving at all costs. Don’t drive when you are under the influence of drugs or alcohol, or when drowsy. While it seems like common sense, it’s always good to remember that driving errors are more likely to occur if you have been drinking or are lacking sleep. Single-Vehicle Accidents Sometimes a driver may lose control due to weather, obstacles, debris, or animals. Here are some things to consider to help avoid this situation.

weather. If it is raining or particularly windy, drive at speeds that allow you to maintain control of your vehicle. Even if you are the only driver on the road, outside forces can create a harmful situation for you and your passengers. Even if it’s a beautiful and sunny day in the Sunshine State, pay attention to your speed! Speeding is linked to many single-vehicle accidents and can be fatal! If you’ve been involved in a motor vehicle accident, be sure to call 911 if there are any injuries and to obtain a police report to document the incident and damages. For any questions or concerns regarding claims or cases, give us a call today for a free consultation!

Maintain a safe following distance! Allow enough room between yourself and the vehicle in front of you so in the event that you need to stop quickly, you are safe to do so. This is especially true in rainy or inclement weather when the roads are wet.

When you are preparing to head out on the road, be mindful of the
