If you signed up and your name is not listed, call, or email the Golf Shop immediately to be included. Most events will have a shotgun start. Starting times will be noted on the Golf Event Registration sign-up pages and on the calendar pages of this booklet.

5

NB: Handicaps for events played on the South Course will be limited to 44. Handicaps for events played on the North Course will be limited to 41.

You should sign up for all events as an individual except when noted that you should form your own team. The Pro Shop will make the pairings for all events. Players will use their course handicaps, calculated in accordance with the World Handicap System, and are required to know the rules of play for each event. The Golf Shop will provide official scorecards for each group. Upon completion of play, scorecards must be turned in to the Golf Shop. The event score along with the appropriate signatures must be completed. Attesting a scorecard certifies that the U.S.G.A. Rules have been followed by each contestant on the Card.

Results of the Sweeps Events will be posted in the Women’s Locker Room and on the WCC ForeTees App.

Formats (Listed alphabetically)

Alternate Event On the days when WGAP Matches are played, an Alternate Event will be offered on the North Course. These events are for individual play so make your own twosome, threesome, or foursome and come out any time after 9:45 a.m. Scorecards should be picked up in the Golf Shop. Prizes will be awarded. (Minimum number of players required is 6.)

Beat the Pro Participants’ net scores will be compared to the Pro’s gross score to determine winners.

Best 1 of 3 Each team consists of 3 players. Strokes are to be taken as they fall on the scorecard for each player. The best ball of the 3 players after handicap is used is the score for the hole. Best 1-2-3 Each team consists of four players. Count one better ball on the par 5’s. Count two better balls on the par 4’s. Count the three best balls on the par 3’s. Best 2 of 3 Each team consists of three players. Strokes are to be taken as they fall on the scorecard for each player. The best 2 balls of the 3 players after handicap is used is the score for the hole. Better Ball of Partners Strokes are to be taken as they fall on the card. The lower score minus the handicap strokes is used as the score for the hole. Even and Odd One better ball is used on the even holes; two better balls are used on the odd holes when played on the North. One better ball is used on the odd holes; two better balls are used on the even holes when played on the South.

Even Holes Total the score of the EVEN numbered holes only and subtract 1/2 of your handicap.

Match Play vs. Par Played at full handicap (maximum 36), strokes are taken as they fall on the card. Play full 18 holes against par, as you would play a match. Score a plus (+) for winning the hole, a minus (-) for losing a hole and a zero (0) for ties. Highest number of pluses (+s) after subtracting minuses (-s) wins.

6

Modified Ryder Cup Each team consists of two players. The format for holes 1 - 9 will be better ball of partners. The format for holes 10 - 18 will be a 2-person scramble. Most 3s, 4s and 5s Players use their full handicap, taking the strokes as they fall on the card. Prizes awarded to the players scoring the most net 3s, the most net 4s and the most net 5s. Scramble On every hole, each player drives and one drive is selected. Each player then hits a second shot from the spot where the selected shot lies. The second shot is selected and all players hit, repeating thisprocess until the hole is completed. Each player must have one drive selected on each nine holes (or the number of drives selected for the entire event). Shamble (Best 1 of 4) Each player in the group tees off; the best shot is selected and each player in the group plays her own ball through the hole from that spot. The 1 best gross and net score (may be the same ball) for each hole is counted as the team score. Each player must contribute a minimum of two (or three) tee shots. Select 9 Holes Before play begins, each player takes her scorecard and circles the 9 holes she believes will be her best. The net scores for those 9 holes will be used to determine the winners. Sixes For the first 6 holes (1 - 6) use the 3 best holes. For the middle 6 holes (7 - 12) use the 3 best holes, for the final 6 holes (13 - 18) use the 3 best holes. Add up the total of the 9 holes and subtract 1/2 of your handicap for scoring. Step Aside Scramble On every hole, each player drives, and one drive is selected. The players whose drives are not selected hit their second shots from the spot where the selected shot lies. The player whose drive was selected does not hit a second shot. Once the second shot has been selected, the process is repeated: the players whose shots were not selected hit their third shots from the spot where the selected second shot lies and the person whose second shot was selected steps aside. This format is repeated until the balls reach the putting green. Once a ball has been selected for putting, all players may take a turn putting from the spot. T and F Play all 18 holes, but only those holes starting with T and F will count (total of 9). Subtract half your handicap at the end of the round. Team Points Score points, using full handicap, as follows: Eagle +4, Birdie +3, Par +2, Bogey +1, Worse 0. Add Team Members Points together. Highest number of points wins.
