INTRODUCTION TO ZOOM S T E P B Y S T E P I N S T R U C T I O N S
You can use Zoom on just about any device, but it is typically recommended you use it on a computer. The Zoom invite email will contain a link which will download a small app (if you don’t already have it) and will connect you to the call. If you would like to download Zoom ahead of time, you are welcome to do so at zoom.us/download . You do not need a Zoom account to join a call. If you already have a Zoom account and have the client downloaded, it is highly recommended you use the latest software version (version: 5.3.1). Prior to joining a call, you can check for updates by clicking your initials in the top right corner of the Zoom client and selecting “check for updates.” You can also view a short video on how to update Zoom at: https:// support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/201362233- Upgrade-update-to-the-latest-version .
Joining a Zoom call
Note: If you do not have internet access, a device compatible with Zoom or simply cannot connect for any reason, you can join by simply calling the Zoom phone number listed in your invite.
1. When you click the Zoom invite link, you will likely see this message in your browser. Click “Open Zoom Meetings”.

2. Once Zoom has opened, you can choose to join with or without video. • If your device has a working camera, you should see your smiling face here.
3. Next, you will be placed in a “waiting room.” It won’t take long for your host to let you in.
4. Once you’ve joined the call, you’ll be prompted to join with audio. Select: “Join with Computer Audio” .

5. At any point during the call, you may mute/unmute your mic or turn your camera on/off using the options at the bottom left of the call screen. Note: You will only be able to see these options if your mouse is hovered over the window.
6. By moving your cursor to the upper right of your screen, you will have the option to choose Gallery View or Speaker View. You can also choose to enter Full Screen View from here. • Gallery View may be useful at the start of the meeting so you can easily see all attendees. • We recommend Speaker View to watch most of the meeting. • In most situations, we recommend using Full Screen View for the entirety of the call.
