with a kayak” K ayaking is the purest formof freedom and exploration – just you, your kayak and a paddle. Silent, self-propelled progress, with no limit on where you can explore. Naturally, a boat can only take you so far - with an Axopar even further - but a kayak truly opens new avenues of adventure; the shallowest of bays and deepest of caves are all within reach from the seat of a kayak. Axopar’s multipurposr roof rackmeans you can carrymultiple kayaks safely and securely without them taking up valuable space on deck.They are easy to launch from the boat, though beginners may want to start from the beach where it’s easier to climb into the kayak. It’s a hobby that is great exercise, transferable to any body of water and the perfect pursuit to enjoy with a group of friends or family. Kayaking can be as challenging or relaxing as you want tomake it and it will take you to places you never thought you would be able to see. To get the most out of kayaking as a beginner, a course to learn the basics – especially how to get in and out of the kayak safely – is a good idea, but this is a hobby that will reward you immediately. It is also sensible to notify someone if you leave for a solo kayak in case there is an emergency. The choice of kayaks is varied. Most people will be familiar with the sit-on-top kayaks that are wider and provide more stability so are ideal for beginners. But there are touring kayaks – long with small cockpits – recreational kayaks that are more suited to calmwater, white water kayaks for the adrenaline junkies, and inflatable kayaks that are the easiest to transport. Nomatter which style you choose, a kayak opens up new realms of adventure.

“Between mountains and hills there are endless adventures to be explored” A n electric powered fatbike is the perfect partner on board for the full sensation of freedom andmovement.The Axopar range will take you to locations that you never thought accessible and, once you get there, the e-fatbike will help you explore the new surroundings on land. These unique off-road bikes are taking off amongst outdoors types and for good reason: if a mountain bike is equivalent to a rally car then an e-fatbike is more like a monster truck, able to gobble up the sort of tough terrain that would leave regular bikes floundering. The oversized tyres glide effortlessly and comfortably across everything from sand to snow, loose stones to large boulders and rough forest tracks.The tyres work best deflated to give as much grip as possible depending on the surface and, because of their large footprint, the tyres exert very little pressure on the surface so riders don’t leave scars on trails and beaches. The key to the boost in their popularity is the addition of electric assistance. Non-electric fatbikes require more effort than a mountain bike to ride but electric assistance means you barely feel any resistance when pedalling. With a range of up to 100km in Ecomode you can cover an enormous amount of ground without getting overly tired and, because the bikes are so comfortable across difficult terrain, you needn’t worry about studying the path in front of you to avoid obstacles and instead can keep your head up and enjoy the surrounding scenery.The combination of an Axopar and an e-fatbike ensures nowhere is out of reach.

Sharing the adventure

J im Inglese has enjoyed life on the water his whole life. From lifeguarding on the beach in his youth to living aboard a sailing boat for 11 years and freediving and spearfishing in his free time, he is happiest at sea. The simplicity of running the Axopar has allowed Jim to bring the family along on his adventures and now it’s something that they can all share. He says, “Christina loves driving the Axopar. Not only has she seen it as something she can do but she is excited about it and is empowered by it. She loves using it on her own.” Often Jimwill pilot the sailing boat over to the island and Christina will follow in the Axopar so they can use their sloop as a base and the 28 as quick transport to the diving and hunting grounds.The boat is a vehicle for them to forge unforgettable memories as a family unit. “My boy loves it, he was four years old and out on the water and at five he is spearing fish at 15ft, it’s amazing to see,” Jim says.The love of the sea and boating is being passed down to the next generation. A starter boat with the edge The hull is designed to be safe, stable and assured to suit those new to boating but with engine options up to 200hp the 22 is still a fun and rewarding boat to drive. The classic Axopar hull form ensures that the boat inspires confidence out at sea but is easy to manoeuvre in tight spaces with minimal windage thanks to its sleek lines. Fully trailerable The ability to trail the 22 Spyder so easily on the road makes it ideal for adventure. The boat’s slender beam and relatively low weight make it an easy craft to tow but there are no compromises when it comes to seakeeping. The stiffness and integrity of the hull is paramount. Bespoke to you As with the rest of the Axopar range, the deck layout can be tailored to each customer’s wishes. The 22 Spyder has three aft deck layouts: standard is a forward-facing rear bench with options of either U-shaped seating for six people that converts into a sun pad or a multi- storage compartment – ideal for watersports equipment – with seating. An optional enclosed toilet compartment forward will be of comfort to guests during day trips. A turn-key solution By using an industry first three-part split-mould production technique, the design team has maximised hull width for optimum stability and ease of movement on board while retaining the Axopar look. This method has resulted in significant cost savings both in production and delivery, where the 22 will fit inside a fixed-sized container for transport from factory to customer so the boat is ready to go quite literally out of the box.

H iking is the most accessible pastime of them all. Young or old, apart from a decent pair of shoes, there is no equipment needed to discover nature on foot. It is an outdoor pursuit that can be enjoyed alone or with friends and family; it’s an opportunity to clear the head and gather thoughts or spend time, in beautiful scenery, surrounded by the people that you cherishmost. Whether it’s following a trail or exploring off the beaten track, a walk in the wild soothes the soul.There are national parks all over the world which are covered bymaps and have suggested trails to follow. Some have dedicated areas for night stop-offs and huts that you canmake use of overnight. True exploration takes place on foot. A boat can whisk you to an isolated island or secluded beach but it’s on your own two feet that you can discover hidden treasures and lose yourself in nature’s embrace. A trail may take you a couple of hours at a relaxed pace with a stop for lunch but a day hike acts as more of a challenge and will take planning and some basic equipment to ensure everyone is safe. Whatever style of hike it is, no other pursuit links you quite so intimately with the natural world.

Five tips for a happy hike 1 Hydration is key: Water bottles are fine for shorter walks but hydration packs are useful for longer treks. 2 Pack a change of socks in case the ones you’re wearing get wet. You don’t want to be walking with wet feet, no matter the distance. 3 You don’t need an exhaustive list of extra kit but a light, foldable waterproof jacket is a good idea. 4 Head out early if you can. Even a short walk in the midday sun can be hard work, so try and get out before it gets too warm and stop in the shade over lunch. 5 Have regular breaks as these give you a chance to catch your breath, top up with water and apply sunscreen.
