 Consider some things that influence how we see and deal with situations at work  Introduce some theory about communicating across cultures  Identify some things we all can do between now and the workshop in April to become more aware and build our own bridges across the cultures at KAUST In April we will run some workshops which look at ‘Intercultural Communication and Collaboration’ As a taster for that workshop, today we will;

Your task between now and the workshop…….  Reflect on the different cultures you interact with on a daily basis  Observe intercultural communications  Be curious about other cultures and how you can develop awareness  Build Bridges – Practice some of the top ten tips

1. Be perceptive 2. Avoid stereotyping 3. Don’t jump to conclusions 4. Be aware of your own cultural ‘baggage’ 5. Be transparent 6. Increase self awareness 7. Build your cultural knowledge 8.
