Texarkana has a unique opportunity to see some great players in action at Texarkana Country Club and Northridge Country Club. The All Pro Tour and Womens All Pro Tour are playing in Texarkana this week. Proceeds will benefit Runnin’ WJ Ranch. The All Pro Tour (APT) has been in operation since 1994. The APT, a subsidiary of K&G Sports LLC, partners with local non-profits to conduct professional golf tournaments in the mid-south region of the U.S. In addition to raising thousands of dollars each year for charity, these events provide an avenue for professional golfers to hone their skills while preparing for a life on the PGA Tour. APT has successfully graduated players to the PGA Tour. They include PGA Tour winners Mark Hensby, J.L. Lewis, Tim Herron, Cameron Beckman, Bubba Watson, and Ryan Palmer. Several former members have also earned their privileges to the PGA’s Web.com Tour, including Web.com Tour winners Scott Sterling, RonWhittaker, Shawn Stefani, Edward Loar, and J.J. Killeen (2011 POY on the Web.com Tour). In 2019, K&G Sports launched the inaugural season of the Women’s All-Pro Tour (WAPT) to provide a pathway for women professional golfers to the LPGA Tour with the same tournament model used on the APT. The WAPT is the official qualifying tour for the LPGA’s Symetra Tour. In 2019 the WAPT graduated Yealimi Noh of Concord, California, and Matilda Castren of Finland to the Symetra Tour. APT and WAPT conduct professional golf tournaments in Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri and Kansas. Local pros and amateurs playing in the APT are Braxton Watkins, Thomas Curry, Zack Fischer, GarrettMay, Art Romero and Sean Romero. Local pros and amateurs playing in the WAPT are Sarah Brown, Emma Edwards and Samantha Stancato.
