Empowerment is a process. A gradual process of visibility, conversations, dialogues resources, and recognition. This process is not restricted to marginalized and vulnerable communities or one gender, it is for everyone to become stronger, more confident, and take control of their actions. Involving men in the process of empowering women is necessary to fix the problem from the grassroots level. Men As an Ally of Women Empowerment Men have the most important role in achieving gender equality and promoting women empowerment initiatives. Men as an ally can be a role model in elevating women's access to employment, appropriate working conditions, control of economic resources and full participation in decision-making. 1: Increase your participation in domestic work and family responsibilities to strive for work-life balance together. 2: Advocate for women's access to employment, rights and opportunities. 3: If you are an organization, create positive male role models on gender equality by introducing fair employment practices, anti-discrimination measures, and gender inclusive decission making and by combating sexual harassment in the workplace. Providing proper education to a girl child is the main agenda of women empowermen. it also includes educating working women and engaging them in job positions. QUESTION 01 Tell us a little bit about your political journey in USA. You ran for the office - how was that experience? Amazing- no regrets. I paved the way for all Muslim Pakistanis to follow their heart. I felt deeply appreciated when the Lawrence de Graff Center for Oral and Public History recognized me as the first ever Democrat Muslim Pakistani to run office in California. I made many and friends and of course, may enemies as is true politics but I came out stronger than I was – more confident to lead women in the path less traveled- politics and public service. QUESTION 02 Why Pakistani American women are not seen that much running for the office in USA , what are the key factors and how do you think we can achieve that statistic of fair representation? We are not encouraged. We are told that our first duty is to our husbands. It took me many years to gather the courage to make decisions for myself. We are not seen as individuals and we are always told to follow the patriarchy which is not at all the right way for Muslim women. Muslim women as seen by the example of our beloved Prophet’s peace be upon him wife, can be CEO’s and hire and fire men. They don’t have to be blindly obedient to them. The more women role models we create, the more our women will find it easier to run for office. That’s what my organization does- empowers responsible Pakistani and Muslim women to become leaders. QUESTION 03 You have been a Democratic representative for years- how do you see VP Kamala Harris as the first female VP of USA. What kind of changes you are seeing in her reign? It was one of the proudest moments of my life to see a South Asian woman break the glass ceiling. I was a Hillary delegate and cried after she lost. So this was a redeeming event. President Biden is a great leader; he wants her to be out there with him for Americans and indeed, the world to see that the values women and so does America. That is a message that I hope men in our community will be inspired by. Women can lead. I think it’s a bit early to tell but VP Harris has already achieved greatness by being the first woman SA VP. I hope that she will bring South Asian communities together in America and help us celebrate the diversity that we cherish. There are many issues in immigrant South Asian communities that she can help with such as domestic violence and the taboos, senior abuse, and lack of cohesion in the South Asian communities. I hope she bring us together under a new coalition to unite us. We have so much in common that we should not let politics blur our vision and our commonalities.

QUESTION 04 What are the social issues and causes that you are passionate about and why? My biggest passion is women’s issues. I have been silenced or marginalized by many Muslim majority organizations that practice patriarchy and misogyny and I have had to fight them alone. The notion that only an Arab woman knows Islam, or only a Hijabi woman is Muslim are the harmful stereotypes that I have to fight. They hurt our women. Right now, the largest Muslim group is South Asian and the most number of Muslim immigrants coming into the US are Pakistanis so we must promote our culture and unite so we are not sidelined. I do not see us represented in the media. Whenever media needs a spokesperson, they turn to males, usually Arabs from Syria or Palestine who do not represent the thriving and vibrant Muslims of South Asia. That has to change. That is why I started AMWEC, because I didn’t feel represented. QUESTION 05 You are the President and CEO of AMWEC. What aspired you to form this organization? (see answer above ) QUESTION 06 In addition to AMWEC, you are also the founder of CalPak- whats the mission and vision of the organization? Calpak is a labor of love. I was born in Karachi. I was asked by USAID to go to Pakistan and advise the US government on education and programs that were running. So I went to Karachi, sadly, for my father’s funeral. I felt I was losing my heritage, my roots, and so I went to see one of the Sindh’s government schools. That was it. A little girl, who was about 7, grabbed my arm, in a empty school, empty classroom, dilapidated building and begged me to teach her. I saw myself in that girl. Had it not been for the education I got from the Catholics Schools in Pakistan, St.Joseph’s, I would not be here. So I decided to get my friends & family to help and educate girls. I hope to run in 2021 but I am still working it out. I love the schools projects and that will not stop. I love the people of Tharparkar and keep going back to them to try to do more to help them. QUESTION 07 What are your future political and/or philanthropic projects?

QUESTION 08 According to you- what are the qualities of a great leader, do women possess different leadership traits than men and why? One of the most important qualities of a good leader is humility. Obama had it, Biden has it and both have our respect. Women do have a unique ability to multitask, get things done, be emotional but know that the job has to be get done. We are expected to be super achievers while men focus on careers, we have to focus on career, home, children, food etc. We pay a big tax to follow our dreams. So we do become more empathetic and sensitive. QUESTION 09 How do you see Pakistan and US relationship in the Biden Administration- what are the current challenges for the newly elected US government? It’s early to tell but I think we have started on the right foot. President Biden has already resumed humanitarian assistance to nations and the travel ban has also been reversed, (which didn’t affect Pakistan at all). If Pakistan wants to ingratiate itself with America, she should think about supporting the empowerment of Palestinians with UAE and Bahrain. Joe Biden has inherited a Muslim world that is more comfortable with Israel. Pakistan should also focus on asking the US to help resume a dialogue on Kashmir. The human rights violation in Kashmir is a reality that President Biden and VP Harris have both spoken about so a positive gesture of good will be to ask for resumption of diplomatic dialogue between India and Pakistan. Biden’s foreign policy will not be sporadic; it will be sustained and consistent. Biden has also announced a global summit to counter the rise in populism which endangers democratic institutions as seen by the January 6th insurrection on the US Capitol. Pakistan’s importance is not any less as a US ally and if Pakistan plays its cards right when it comes to Afghanistan, and brokers a workable deal with Taliban for the US exit from Afghanistan, Pakistan will most likely be back as a trusted US ally. QUESTION 10 What is your special message for the BGN followers and audience especially this is women’s history month? God gave us rights; men took them away. We need to understand that our religion doesn’t demand blind subservience to women but requires us to be equal partners. We need to look back at the history of our religion and learn from the role Hazrat Khadija RA played in Prophet Muhammad’s peace be upon him life. She was a businesswoman, fifteen years older, divorced, with children from previous marriage, and she asked Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him to marry him. She broke all taboos! Why are we not allowing women to flourish and be what they want to be? We must remember that we must uplift each as women so we all can rise.

HOW TO EMPOWER WOMEN

The number one question I received in my messages is “How to empower women?” I realized that the word “empower” has been used to advertise, sell and often times do the opposite of what it means. Marketers have used the phrase to make huge profits and make women feel like they NEED the product in order to feel empowered. Let’s remember what empower really means. Empower; verb make (someone) stronger and more confident, especially in controlling their life, sharing a resource and claiming their rights.

EMPOWERING WOMEN;

I wish more women realized that helping another woman win, cheering her on, praying for her, or sharing a resource with her, does NOT take away from the blessings coming to them. In fact, the more you give the more you receive. Empowering women does not come from selfishness but rather from selflessness.

SO WHEN YOU HEAR SOMEONE SAY THEY EMPOWER – THINK BACK TO THE REAL DEFINITION OF EMPOWER. HERE ARE THE WAYS YOU CAN EMPOWER WOMEN ON AN EVERY DAY BASIS: Use your buying power. Yes, we make less than men but that doesn’t mean we aren’t the ones who drive the economy. In fact – women influence 83% of spending in the US annually. That is 7 TRILLION dollars a year. We literally have the power to decide what fortune 500 company stays on or off the list. We have the power to support businesses who have women CEOs. We have the power to help women secure their financial future. We have the power to change the fact that women are paid less than men by choosing to buy from them, by choosing to support businesses that support women. Before making a purchase online I google who owns the company and who they employ. It does take some time but I find it worth it. When I’m at a store I look for products featuring the “Women Owned Logo” Here is a running list of businesses that I buy from. Bookmark it for easy access. Need new clothes, shoes, or accessories? Shop at ABLE -a lifestyle brand focused on ending generational poverty through providing economic opportunity for women. I love them for so many reasons. They even publish the wages they pay their employees! Time – Make time to grab coffee with your girlfriends. Check on their mental health. Listen to them and if they ask for it – share your advice. There is something truly powerful when women form strong friendships. Take it a step further and offer to mentor someone. It is easier than it seems. I signed up at the college I graduated from and have had a student shadow me at work. I give her career advice and stay in touch with her. Donate – Find a charity you love, you’ll never regret being kind. For the past 5 years I have donated to Compassion. You can choose who you want to sponsor. I decided to sponsor a young girl. She is now 13 and is still going to school. Most girls at her age are taken out to help at home. Due to the small donation I make every month she will continue to get an education. Use your network – There are times when I am at the right place at the right time and hear of an opportunity that I know will benefit a woman in my life. It can be a small project or a job opportunity. Due to being mindful of my surroundings and remembering that I shouldn’t only be looking out for myself, I have been able to get my friends careers, projects, and gigs. You can empower by simply introducing them to someone in your network. You never know if that relationship will lead to a bigger opportunity. When your intentions are pure you are able to empower women with the things you do every day. Whether it is shopping, sharing a resource like your time, knowledge or network. Empowering women is not hard – however, it does require you to be mindful.

A diet never states that skipping on regular meals or substituting all of them with salads is going to guarantee the best results. anything be it carbs, fat or fiber. Therefore, the bubble is needed to be burst that diets have huge part of greens in the form of salads. That is not entirely true. It is not stated anywhere that you have to have full size greens, a big chunk of lettuce or whole bowl of broccoli, you just have to add some of it to your regular meals to maintain a safe balance. Adding spinach, kale and romaine into the dishes you already enjoy can give them a healthy boost—and you may not even be able to taste the difference. Greens are important because they are low in calories and they tend to keep your body hydrated. In addition to it they are loaded with vitamins and minerals that are very essential to boost your bodily functions and eliminate stomach distress or other diseases. As water is needed to keep the body hydrated in a significant amount similarly greens are also needed but just in a significant amount. You do not have to overdo to get better results neither do you have to substitute them completely against your regular meals. There is a way to make your already favorite dishes healthy and rich in greens. Add some spinach, chopped broccoli, kale or parsley into the raw scrambled egg with a pinch of salt and black pepper as preferred. You can also separate the egg whites from the yolks and avoid cheese, there you have a low calorie breakfast omelet. Easy and delicious as before! Breakfast OMELETS Omelets or scrambled eggs are the essentials of breakfast. They are rich in taste and in proteins. However, vegetables might never cross your mind when it comes to breakfast but adding a tad bit of them can actually make this protein packed meal full of iron and fiber, which will help you feel full longer.

A fiber rich smoothie without added sugar is a healthy way to kick start your day. Toss in some greens in it too and get yourself a very effective, healthy drink. The added greens give a rich earthy color as well as the smoothness and it helps freshen up. Leafy vegetables offer a slew of essential nutrients, such as vitamins A, C and K as well as fiber, folate, magnesium, calcium, iron and potassium. Keep it simple and short. Do not overload it with added sugar, fats and the greens. Use the minimal amount of each and add your favorite protein powder if needed. There you have it, a meal rich in protein, fiber and essential vitamins all served at your table. Breakfast OATMEAL Oatmeal itself is rich in fiber which helps boost healthy digestion and can help you stay full longer. Since it has the quality of maintaining healthy digestion it is the go to meal to have when suffering from stomach distress. It is a savory dish hence garnish it with a dash of greens or top it with steamed greens alongside poached egg.

Pasta, ramen, noodles, spaghetti all of these are the favorite shapes of food of almost everyone. It is the most favored dish by the people of all ages around the whole world. Keeping in mind the luscious taste of this beautiful dish, we can add greens in it too. Veggie noodles, often made from zucchini, butternut squash or cucumber, are a great alternative to traditional or whole grain pasta. Add a double dose to your pasta by tossing in some greens in the sauce. You can add shredded broccoli, basil, spinach and avocado in your sauce based on the taste you want. Altogether, they add color, texture, nutrients and taste to your dish cutting down on calories and fat. Diner VEGGIE NOODLES Mix zucchini and scallions in the ground meat batter before turning it into a patty. Then cheerfully sizzle it, grill it, bake it or whatever you like, it is all good to go. Diner TURKEY BURGER Now it is time to enrich meat. You cannot or should not completely exclude meat from your daily meals. Meat is responsible to provide you with proteins and necessary amount of fat which is needed by the body. Exclusion of it can cause your entire diet plan go the wrong way.

Lunch VEGGIE SOUPS

Soups are versatile. They have an innate quality of adapting any type of vegetable or meat put forward them and turn it into a tasteful dish. Soups are hot served therefore they are mostly enjoyed in winters but soups are the healthy home remedy to treat throat ache. They are the best way to toss in different veggies and dish out a complete unique plate full or greens. Toss in some asparagus, blend of herbs and handful of greens like Swiss chard or kale and make your own soup. This way you get to keep a hold on fat, sodium and calcium levels.

You are in a mood to have a cheat meal but you also don’t want to cheat your diet plan. Here is what you need. Just swap the bread of your wrap or burger with lettuce. Exactly. This tiny swap of one basic item cuts down many calories since breads are rich in calories. Swap a spoonful of mayonnaise with homemade hummus for healthier kick. is a dream, a desire for everyone but only few are there in this world blessed naturally with it. Some people possess such genes that doesn’t allow them to get fat no matter how much they eat, in how much amount they eat nothing actually affects them. Whereas there are some people with genes who get fat by just drinking water. You see that is the problem here. We connect being healthy with not being fat or not being too skinny. That is not the definition of healthy. Healthy is a body that has proper, active functioning organs with low to minimal vulnerability towards catching diseases and the body which glows internally. Being healthy is not at all relative to being fat or being skinny. Rather it is related to being happy and active by all means. Healthy bodies can either be achieved by healthy diets that flushes out toxins from your body internally keeping it hydrated, breathing and active. Or it can be achieved from exercise. A lot of people have a hard time sticking to a rigid schedule of exercises, workouts and gym classes because they are actually stressful. Not all of us have time to spare for such extra activities. Although exercise is a very important aspect that should be, must be a part of our daily routine. About exercise we all have some misconceptions. They do not always have to be carried out with weights and machines. Exercises are more than that. Machines and weights are just the alternates. If followed the right steps of exercises from an early age, there is no need of weights and machines. Keep the following exercises in your daily routine and you will never feel unhealthy.

The first thing in the morning, get up and go running. Running boosts metabolism. When you wake up from your night sleep, it is the time to wake your body up as well. There is absolutely no rocket science in fact you do this all day. All you have to do is take a long breath in, hold it in for 15 seconds and then release it slowly. Running and jogging are not similar but they are not too different either. Jogging is basically jumping a tad bit while you run whereas running is like when you used to run like a kid.

Stretching is one of the yoga poses that are mostly advised to be practiced. Period it tones your body curves and strengthens your muscles. Your body muscles have certain levels of elasticity. If you hardly move or do not stretch at all you are likely to experience inconvenience in jumping or in sitting on your feet for too long or joint and muscle pain after lifting heavy objects. Cycling has many benefits. First of all the pollution caused by vehicles and automobiles is seriously injurious to health. Cycling is a non-polluting alternate of traveling. You get to be where you want to be and let’s face it you get to exercise a little as well. It strengthens muscles and posture. When you are cycling your spine is in a certain rigid position which helps in maintaining posture. It strengthens bones and increases the flexibility of your body. In addition to it, it is doctor recommended that cycling helps in cardiovascular fitness. People suffering from heart diseases are suggested to cycle because it keeps your heart pumping at a certain level breaking the minor blockage. It is fun and you can substitute it from your traveling mediums. The act or position of balancing yourself is the second most advised or practiced act of yoga. Balancing is important as it keeps your body toned. If you are able to balance yourself equally from all sides than your growth is more likely to be equally linear. All your body parts are equally elastic. This act also provides calm and peace to your mind and heart. Squats tend to keep the body in its perfect shape. Each body has its own type. Either it is hourglass, cylindrical, sphere, triangular or rectangular. Thus these types define the curves and silhouettes of your body. They are needed to be toned. Squats help reduce belly fat. It is far most the best way to get rid of belly fat faster than any other remedy of exercise. It strengthens the thigh muscles and hip joint. Holding on to a squat also levels your upper body that is your spine in adequate posture. It maintains the shoulder and spine position which eliminates clumsy or bulging posture.

If all of these are still stressful to keep up with then just play. Play like a child. Engage in any activity, any sport any work being done. Just be active as much as you can. Because you might not know but while you are engaged in any physical activity you are actually exercising in a certain manner. The only difference is that your mind is not conscious about it. Therefore, play like you used to when you were a kid. Kids are happy and healthy because they care less and just bring out all the energy to the table they possess. The system used by U.S. banks to execute some $3 trillion in transactions daily began suering outages at around 11.15am Eastern time on Wednesday, and remained down for more than three hours.

'A Federal Reserve operational error resulted in disruption of service in several business lines,' a Fed spokesman told DailyMail.com in a statement. 'We have restored services and communicated with all Federal Reserve Financial Services customers about the status of operations.' Most of the key systems, including the backbone settlement services Fedwire and FedACH, were back online by 3pm, but the Fed acknowledged that payment deadlines were 'impacted' during the outage.
