Have You Met Your Annual Insurance Deductible? END OF THE YEAR BENEFITS
If you are close to or have met your insurance deductible for the year, then now is the time to come in for Physical Therapy! Are you feeling aches and pains? Need to work on your core? Let us help you get a head start for 2019. Have you undergone surgery recently? Call us today at 951-684- 2874 to schedule an appointment with one of our physical therapists. We’ll guide you to affordable treatments that will place you one step closer to pain relief.
An insurance deductible is the amount of money that you must pay before your insurance company pays for your medical services. If your deductible is met, your Physical Therapy may not cost you anything. Patients with family plans or those who have had major surgeries or have a chronic illness are especially likely to have a $0 balance remaining on their out-of-pocket expenses. This means that the cost of physical therapy could be minimal or completely covered by the patient’s insurance plan.
Eating Habits & HOW IT AFFECTS YOUR JOINTS
Relieving arthritis or joint pain may be easier than you think! The solution may be as simple as paying attention to what you are eating in order to avoid inflammatory foods that often lead to pain. What Inflammatory Foods Lead to Pain? Eatinghighly processed foods (suchaspasta, breadandcrackers— especially those containing gluten) creates inflammation in the body. This inflammation then leads to the actual physical pain that you may feel in your knees and joints since the joints are particularly vulnerable to inflammation. Foods with gluten, trans fats, found in snack foods like chips and pastries, and high sugar, that handful of M&M’s from your coworkers desk, all cause inflammation. For many people, dairy products are also inflammatory. Eating these types of foods over a long period of time means more and more inflammation throughout the body and ultimately more pain.
“This nutritional diet has actually been working!” “My husband and I have always been very health conscious but once I got pregnant I lost sight of my fitness goals and focused all of my energy on preparing for this new adventure of becoming parents. During my pregnancy, I gained 50lbs and for the past year and a half, I have really been struggling to lose the baby weight. With all the added responsibilities of parenthood along with my marriage and career, I thought I would never be able to lose the weight. I joined the gym, but never had time to work out... I tried weigh-watchers but that also didn’t last very long. One day I realized that I was basing my fitness goals on what has worked for other people instead of basing it off of my life and what is actually practical and obtainable for me. I spend a lot of time in the kitchen cooking Keto Meals for husband, I have been cooking Keto for him for a few years now. I decided that I might as well give it a try because well, I am already cooking the food so why not! To my surprise this nutritional diet has actually been working really well for me and for my home life! Being able to share the same nutrition plan as my husband has really made it a much more enjoyable journey for me. It doesn’t even feel like I have any restrictions because I get to enjoy meals with the people that I love. I’ve surrounded myself with people who support my health decisions and I listen to my body/mind instead of listening to the negativity of the people on the outside looking in. When you make a decision to change something in your life, especially when that change is something people don’t understand they will show resistance to your change. You just have to learn to listen to yourself and make changes in your life for you, not for those around you. Don’t worry so much about what everyone else is doing, try to find something that fits your lifestyle and incorporate changes in little-by-little. But mainly, make sure you are doing it for you! That’s what has always worked for me.” - Jaymee V. Jaymee made the decision on her own to make changes in her life for her own health. We are beyond proud of her dedication to reach this goal for herself. The decision is in your hands, are you ready to make the change? While changing your food sounds simple, many need more guidance and support, which is why a nutrition consultation, is often helpful. However, you can take our tips above and start alleviating your pain today! Wellness Transformation SPOTLIGHT

Tips On Grocery Shopping For HEALTHY OPTIONS
Become supermarket savvy by creating checklist for making healthier food choices in every department of your supermarket: Produce. Spend the most time in the produce section, the first area you encounter in most grocery stores. Choose a rainbow of colorful fruits and vegetables. The colors reflect the different vitamin, mineral, and phytonutrient content of each fruit or vegetable. Meat, Fish, and Poultry. The American Heart Association recommends two servings of fish a week. Be sure to choose lean cuts of meat (like round, top sirloin, and tenderloin), opt for skinless poultry, and watch your portion sizes. Dairy. Dairy foods are an excellent source of bone-building calcium and vitamin D. There are plenty of low-fat and nonfat options to help you get three servings a day, including drinkable and single-serve tube yogurts, and pre-portioned cheeses. If you enjoy higher-fat cheeses, no problem -- just keep your portions small.
3 Simple Shopping Rules Spend less hours in the grocery store by following these rules: 1. Shop the perimeter of the grocery store, where fresh foods like fruits, vegetables, dairy, meat, and fish are usually located. Avoid the center aisles where junk foods lurk. 2. Choose “real” foods, such as 100% fruit juice or 100% whole-grain items with as little processing and as few additives as possible. If you want more salt or sugar, add it yourself. 3. Plan ahead for success. Before you set out for the market, plan your meals for the week, and create a list to shop from. It takes a fewminutes, but saves time in running back to the store for missing ingredients. Ask us about our up and coming grocery tours!
