Meet the Faculty
Kyle Peach has been an instructor at Wabash Valley College since 2006. He holds an Associate in Science degree from Wabash Valley College and a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism and Computer Publishing from the University of Southern Indiana.
In addition to his time at WVC, Peach has worked for many years in the broadcasting industry including time spent as a radio personality, news reporter and sports broadcaster. He is also currently working as a sports announcer for ESPN 3. In addition to his duties as an instructor, Peach serves as the faculty sponsor for the Radio/TV club, the Student Senate, and for the FRESH food program.

About the Program
Students in the Radio/TV broadcasting program will learn the ins and outs of the broadcasting and media business. Students receive training on equipment and software, broadcasting and announcing techniques, sales and social media training, writing for media, journalism and more.
Students begin working for the program’s radio and TV stations their first semester. This provides students the opportunity to work with the industry’s latest equipment and technology and log around 100 hours of real-world experience each semester.
During their time at WVC, the program’s students visit area media companies including commercial radio and TV stations in Evansville as well as college ESPN production facilities.
This provides students the chance to see what career opportunities are available to them after graduation and hear from industry professionals.

Career paths in the field of radio/TV broadcasting
WVC’s radio/TV broadcasting students can go on to pursue many careers in the media industry such as on-air talent, editors, social media managers, reporters, producers, directors, production personnel, and more!
With this in mind, WVC offers degree options to help students meet their career goals. The college offers degrees in Radio/TV Broadcasting, Sports Marketing & Media, and Music & Media. The college also offers certificates in Media Communications, Entertainment Business, Social Media Management, and Music & Media. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics suggests the number of jobs available in the media industry will increase by 4% from 2019 to 2029, and WVC is the place to prepare to enter this growing field! Radio/TV broadcasting students can go on to pursue a variety of careers in the media industry such as on-air talent, video and audio editors, social media managers, news and sports reporters, producers, directors, production personnel, announcer, broadcast/ sound engineering technician, camera operator, photographer, public relations specialist, reporter, newscaster or writer.

WVC’s News Channel 15 was the 2015 Energy Education Council Safe Electricity College Challenge Video Award winner. Additionally, the program was named the Intercollegiate Broadcasting System’s 2020 Best Community College TV Station in the Nation. In 2021, one of the program’s students, Drew Pountain, won the IBS’ Best Commercial award.
