About Us

Lindsay Boyd has 14 years experience as a Senior Deputy Probation Officer. She holds a Master of Business Administration degree with an emphasis on Project Management, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice. She has worked a variety of assignments in both juvenile and adult divisions, with experience including Juvenile Intake / Electronic Monitoring, adult field, AB109, DUI's, corrections/custody, programming, and juvenile placement. Her passion for teaching led her to becoming one of the first Career Enhancement Academy instructors for her department She also has experience instructing CORE classes and risk assessments/case planning and currently works for the National and Curriculum and Training Institute. and is a Continuing and Professional Education Instructor for University of California Davis. She has enjoyed expanding her instructor profile to include other agencies and to continue incorporating the non-traditional method of leading from the line level up. Her ultimate goal is to inspire her students to challenge and support one another and to gain invaluable perspective during each course. Silvina Minero is a community college instructor and holds a Master of Arts in Psychol- ogy from Pepperdine University and a Bachelor of Science in Human Services from University of Phoenix. She has 13 years of field and custody experience as a line staff officer and senior deputy probation officer for both the juvenile and adult divisions. She held specialized assignments on multidisciplinary teams for domestic violence, mental health, substance abuse and was a court officer. She was a class instructor for newly hired officers, was a facilitator for the employee Career Enhancement Academy and was recognized by the State of California for her work with at-risk youth. She is trained in Crisis Intervention, Lean Six Sigma Process Improvement and in Canvas, the online learning management system. She currently teaches Criminology, Criminal Justice, General Psychology, Development Through the Life Span and she is a member of Psi Chi, the International Honor Society in Psychology. Her specialty areas are developmental and community psychology with a focus on traumatic experienc- es and co-existing community factors during critical developmental life stages. Her mission is to inspire a deeper understanding of how both trauma and community contribute to mental health disorders, antisocial behavior and criminality. Krista Cisneros has nearly 23 years of experience as a juvenile institutions Corrections Officer. She has worked many assignments in housing, both detention and commitment, programming, booking, emergency response, and is currently a Supervising Corrections Officer. She is an instructor for her department, teaching Crisis Prevention and De-escala - tion, Mental Health for Juvenile Justice, CORE classes, is the lead booking instructor, as well as an instructor on her department’s officer safety team. Seeing the need and importance, she created the booking course for her department which she additionally had STC certified. She is currently the chairperson leading an action planning committee for Leadership and Staff Empowerment for her department. In her career, she has been honored as Corrections Officer of the Year for her department and was recently honored in Sacramento as the 2021 State Coalition of Probation Officers (SCOPO) Correctional Officer of the Year. She is active in the community as a member of the event leadership team for the American Cancer Society Relay for Life as well as her department’s team captain. She enjoys teaching others and lending her experience, as well as continuing her own learning and education to be an effective leader in her department. Her goal is to lead others to continue their learning and to strive for their full potential.

Forever Found is a nonprofit founded in 2010 to combat the hidden reality of human trafficking and child exploitation internationally. In 2014, Forever Found began a Local Program Department to address the tragic reality of human traf- ficking in Ventura County, California. The Local Program Department primarily serves youth ages 12-25 and focuses on trafficking prevention, victim recovery, survivor restoration, training and awareness, and community collaboration. Forever Found has a residential home for child survivors of both labor and sex trafficking in India as well supports partner aftercare homes in Thailand, Ethio - pia, and Texas. Today we serve as the primary resource for commercially exploited children (CSEC & labor) in Ventura County. Our direct services include S.A.F.E visits, 24/7 R.E.A.C.H. crises response team, case management, mentor program, holistic therapies, and prevention and restoration curriculum. All our programs are voluntary for the youth, allowing them to have a voice, which is the first step towards recovery and finding their value and worth. Forever Found is an active collaborator with social service providers, law enforcement and other nonprofits. We currently have contracts with Ventura County Probation, Children & Family Services (CFS), and Interface Children & Family Services through the Ventura County Human Trafficking Task Force victim services grant.

Jennifer is the Local Program Director at Forever Found, anti-human trafficking nonprofit. She has over 30 years of training experience in a variety of areas including 12 years of anti-human trafficking experience. Jennifer is currently a counselor-in-training at Townsend Institute, Concordia University, working on master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She holds a master’s Certificate of Christian Studies: Children at Risk, School of Intercultural Studies, Fuller Semi- nary. She is a certified facilitator for Ending the Game as well as Word on the Street. Jennifer Directs Forever Found’s Local Programs, ensuring day to day operations remain focused on the clear mission and vision of prevention, rescue and restoration of child trafficking victims. She Manages local program department including staff, 24/7 Emergency Response Team, Survivor Mentor Program, Holistic Therapies and Volunteers. Jennifer is passionate about education and delivers education and training presentations, workshops, and classes on human trafficking. She is proud to create and maintain partnerships with various county government agencies and community-based organizations including sitting on the leadership committee for the Ventura County Human Trafficking Task Force and the steering committee for the Ventura County Coalition Against Human Trafficking. Where she administers government contracts with Probation and Children and Family Services and various grants including writing contracts, billing, and grant writing. Katherine Chavez has over ten years specializing in addiction recovery services. She holds a Master of Science degree in Higher Education Administration and Non-profit Management from Capella University as well as a Bachelor of Science degree in History with Minors in Sociology and Liberal Studies. Her background includes extensive administrative work in the non-profit sector as well as teaching adult education courses such as Relationships and Ethics, Introduction to Education and Boundaries. She served as the Dean of Students at the Teen Challenge Ministry Institute for five years educating formerly addicted persons and overseeing campus activities. Katherine has recently joined Forever Found as the Local Program Manager and her vision is to educate community members about the subject of human trafficking and to inspire them to get involved and make a difference. She works closely with the Survivor Mentor Program ensuring that mentors are educated and supported in this important role. Katherine coordinates holistic therapies for youth including equine and art programs. She assists in creating training material for educational programs as well as research and grant writing and provides support where needed for Local Programs.
