Summer is always a great time at Next Level Tumbling. Since the kids are out of school, we are able to offer morning and afternoon classes, which is a treat for all of our coaches. And if we had any doubt, we know summer is finally here when our athletes show up with tanlines and swimsuits in the place of leotards! When I think of summer, I think of the bay, the sand, lemonade, suntan lines, and riding bicycles until it gets dark. I am reminded of the days my family spent at Lake Eufaula, fishing for bass and water skiing. My dad was a huge bass fisherman. He tried his hardest to get my sister and me interested, but neither of us sincerely took to it when we were young. However, I was raised on Lake Eufaula, and there wasn’t much else to do, so we humored him many times.

hobby. We have quite a few fishing trips planned for this summer at local spots and Triple D Ranch. We are also hoping to plan a trip to Mexico!

Steven and I also share a love for rollercoasters and amusement parks. We are planning a trip to our favorite park, Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio. Cedar Point is a world renowned park that boasts the world’s fastest and highest rollercoasters, and we are so excited to ride the Millennium Force and the Top Thrill Dragster. There are three holidays that divide summer up into equal parts. The season kicks off with Memorial Day, the middle is defined by Independence Day, and summer comes to a close with Labor Day. On the first two holidays, the nation takes time to honor our patriots and veterans who have served our country. We decorate the gym to celebrate, and our decorative stars hang from the ceiling all season long. Summertime always calls for barbecues, and you better believe we will be celebrating our troops with good food and great company. I remember each summer holiday I celebrated as a kid — they were my favorite! We loved to barbecue and set off fireworks. My grandfather was a veteran, so each holiday celebrating our troops means the world to me. Today, our celebrations are filled with joy, nostalgia, and pride for our country. At times, it seems that we are a heavily divided nation. However, Memorial Day and Independence Day give us a chance to remember those who have served our country, and we have a chance to come together over our shared history and culture. Summer represents youth and pleasure, but it also represents respect, pride, and gratitude. Take time to unwind this summer, but make sure to thank those who have fought for our freedom. I know I will.

Ironically, bass fishing is now one of my favorite things to do. Steven, my boyfriend, loves to fish as well, and I’m thankful that we can share this fun

See you soon!

Chores have often been a regular aspect of a family household. However, many parents today are questioning the importance of assigning housework over extracurricular activities. >Page 1 Page 2 Page 3 Page 4
