Passion To Heal SM Program Overview 2017-2018

Screening, diagnosis and treatment of local communities

Health care capacity building of local physicians

American physician engagement

Support medical infrastructure in developing communities

18

“ Before Passion to Heal SM , doctors and medical staff at Baraka Hospital were under real pressure to educate, diagnose and treat skin diseases and conditions. These trips bring American health professionals to work with us to provide the much needed care and expertise to marginalized communities in rural Kenya and India. This is why trip after trip, we have local community members traveling hundreds of miles, lining up to seek the services offered by our volunteer dermatology professionals.” Kenya Health Director, WE Charity

19

Testimonials

“ I felt such a strong sense of purpose while seeing patients at the clinic, where I was reminded of why I went into medicine in the f irst place. It is an incredible program, linking medical providers, patients and people across different countries and cultures.” Passion to Heal SM program participant

Having been with Valeant for seven years, I have always been proud of the work we do: getting efficacious medications into the hands of patients who need it. But Passion to Heal SM has renewed the faith and affinity I feel for Valeant as an organization. The aid and medication provided to the patients we saw at the clinic on the Maasai Mara provided such significant relief to a population that is in dire need. The trip changed not only my life but also the lives of several of our customers that attended. I am so thankful to have had the opportunity to represent Valeant during this inspirational mission.” Valeant employee

26

“I just want to express my deepest gratitude for the opportunity you provided for me to travel here to Kenya and treat so many people who desperately needed treatment. This is a trip that I will never forget and I am so very profoundly grateful to Valeant for sponsoring this trip and allowing me to participate. This is so powerful for so many people, so thank you Valeant.” Passion to Heal SM program participant “

“ It was such an amazing experience. I felt such a strong sense of purpose while seeing patients at the clinic, where I was reminded of why I went into medicine in the first place. The true need for medical care at Baraka clinic compared to what we typically deal with in the US was so striking. I really felt like I was doing something. Valeant is to be highly commended for the amazing, powerful and important work they are doing in India and Africa. It is an incredible program, linking medical providers, patients and people across different countries and cultures.” Passion to Heal SM program participant
