Helen Kiner McCarthy 1884–1927, Pennsylvania/New York American Impressionist painter Helen Kiner McCarthy studied at the Phila- delphia School of Design for Women from 1904–09. She was a founding member of the group, Philadelphia Ten Women Painters, which played a prominent role in fostering the careers of talented women artists and bring- ing their work to the attention of a wider collecting audience. McCarthy exhibited her work at the Pennsyl- vania Academy, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the National Association of Women Artists, amongst others.
