MEET OUR SUMMER MUSIC EDUCATOR

Daniel Bernard Roumain (DBR) DBR https://www.danielroumain.com

He is a composer of chamber, orchestral, and operatic works; has been nominated for a Sports EMMY for Outstanding Musical Composition for his collaboration with ESPN; featured as keynote performer at technology conferences; and created large scale, site-specific musical events for public spaces.

Due to UE’s safety protocols DBR’s three day music residency, for kids, was limited solely to our registered students, volunteers and staff. We hope to be fortunate to have DBR provide a future

program in which we will be able to invite our supporters, parents, visitors and all friends.

Thanks to our supporters, UE’s participating students received take home musical instruments for their continued practice and enjoyment.

Meet our 2021 Unified Efforts-Creative Writing Cohort Attended Goucher College’s Young Writers’ Workshop-College Essay Prep (L) Kamille Simmons, Eldon Clarke, Jr., Dorien Wallace, and Kamal Quickley (Not in picture: Alana Swinton and Jeremiah Haynes) After finishing Goucher’s workshop, and a week of editorial guidance, our high school students joined UE’s music residency given by “DBR”.

UE’s children served two hot, healthy meals.

Prepared on site daily. (breakfast and lunch)
