Peperomia

is the most popular, most recognized, and most widely grown of all succulents, and they are available in a variety of colors, from pastels to deeper hues, gray-green to burgundy and purple. Like most other succulents, the echeveria’s thickened leaves are a storehouse of water that help it survive drought. Echeverias love the indoors and outdoors. The best conditions are hot, arid environments like their native habitats. When indoors, place them in a sunny windowwhere they'll thrive and showcase their colors beautifully. Each variety is as eye-catching as the next. Echeveria

Echeveria These Dümmen Orange exclusive varieties, in breeding collaboration with Ubink Succulents, provide excellent color with a quick-filling nature. The genetics resist stretching in low-light conditions and are a beautiful addition to every succulent program for their growth habit, color and garden appeal.

Adromischus Adromischus are known for their very thick and fleshy leaves. These plants require full sun for their colors to truly emerge. Indoors, these plants are best grown in very bright places, such as any sunny window ledge or the top shelf of the greenhouse. Their compact habit makes them ideal for small spaces. Succulents

Senecio haworthii Mont Blanc 86392

Portulacaria afra While not actually related to the crassula Jade plant, this dwarf Jade is a succulent with small, thick, glossy leaves and burgundy-red stems. It stores water in its trunk and leaves so it can survive without regular watering. These make great landscape plants as well, where they will mound into a groundcover and shrub-type form.

Portulacaria afra variegata 86338

Portulacaria afra mediopicta 86337

Rochea Falcata This gray-green succulent has leaves shaped like a propeller. It always provides a nice contrast when planted with other succulents and makes an eortless addition indoors. The plants have a bright scarlet red flower that contrasts dramatically against the leaves. Rochea Falcata 86346

Succulents Portulacaria, Rochea | 25

Sedum The plant has a glossy lemon-lime color, and the leaf tips color to a glowing orange when grown in bright sunlight. It has thick branching stems, and as they grow, they bend, making them colorful trailing plants in container arrangements or hanging baskets.

Gasteria

hybrids

Dümmen Orange has sped up the production of Gasteria with these fast-growing hybrids, giving growers a faster crop for interior programs. The breeding has focused on speeding up a traditionally slow-growing category with hybrids that will fill containers quickly and perform wonderfully under low light conditions. The parent varieties are naturally found behind rocks and under grasses giving them excellent adaptation for homes with lower light levels and infrequent watering conditions.

Royal Wolfgang is a unique selection from the Dümmen Orange breeding program with wider vertical blades. This

fast-growing hybrid fills containers with a favorable balance of height

and width. Royal Wolfgang, like its cousins shown on the following

pages, quickly fills 6-inch containers with ease.

Succulents Gasteria | 29

Succulents

Gasteria Gasteria is a genus of relatively rare, aloe-like plants. Commonly known as "ox tongue" because it typically has long leaves with a rough texture. Depending on the species, gasteria leaves also are oftenmarkedwith exciting patterns and colors. Moreover, mature gasteria plants typically produce tubular, curved flowers in the winter to spring. Gasteria are native tomore shaded regions of South Africa, making themone of the best choices for indoor succulents with lower light requirements.

Aloe Aloes are excellent indoor plants for a bright spot in the home. These houseplants have a bold texture that works particularly well with modern and contemporary decorating schemes. While aloes are traditionally thought of for their foliage when grown as indoor plants, they can bloomwith tall stems of brightly colored flowers if they get enough light, and are great attractors for hummingbirds outdoors.

Haworthia These small, low-growing plants form rosettes of fleshy green leaves generously covered with white pearly warts or bands, giving them a distinctive appearance. These plants are lovely little succulents that make attractive small houseplants. Potted plants are often moved outdoors for the summer months, and in regions without frost, they are a great addition to partially shaded areas. Succulents
