A B O U T A R T I C O LO Articolo is a design studio that celebrates the art of light through a commitment to artisanal craft and quality workmanship. With showrooms in Melbourne, Australia and New York City, the studio reflects creative director Nicci Green’s passion for the textural spirit of light; producing works that are internationally regarded for a contemporary yet enduring aesthetic and the luxurious pairing of materials.

N I C C I G R E EN An influential design force for more than 25 years, Nicci Green has specialised in artisanal craftsmanship since 2004. Inspired by her singular vision to focus on and cultivate ‘the art of light’, the Articolo collection reflects Green’s fascination with the shadow play of light and the inherent soul that is revealed within each individually mouth-blown piece. Nicci’s vision is ever evolving, working alongside a global network of makers to craft pieces with true artisanal materiality, delivering designer lighting that’s high end in its design language as well as its production and quality. With a rapidly growing collection as well as bespoke commissions, Green’s sophisticated and elegant designs are specified globally in leading luxury hotels, hospitality venues and high-end private residential projects.

B A ND ED Banded sees Articolo marry its contemporary design philosophy with centuries-old Japanese artisanship. Each shade is produced by hand in Arita, Japan; a town famed for its porcelain and hand-painted finishes for over 200 years. These superb art forms feature a custom designed light source, tirelessly perfected for the ultimate luminescent glow.

Its organic shape conceals a custom light source; a handcrafted disc encased in brass that floats with weightlessness behind a striking glass form, mouth-blown in Murano, Italy. The arresting restraint of Slim evokes effortless glamour. Its light source is housed within an elongated arch of mouth blown glass and framed in hand finished metalwork by local artisan’s.

S P OT I The Spoti collection draws from the artisanal crafts of Italian master glass blowers practising Millefiori. Dramatic shadow play with nuances of peony roses are cast onto the walls when the Spoti is lit. The black Spoti bleeds dramatic aubergine patterns onto the wall.
