MEET KAYLA DANE KAYLA WAS BORN FOR THIS. QUITE LITERALLY. STYLE AND ORGANIZATION HAVE BEEN A CORE PART OF KAYLA’S IDENTITY ALL HER LIFE.

Her first memories revolve around fashion. Duct-taping her mom’s clothes so they fit her five-year-old frame. Cinching her brother’s too-big T-shirt with a belt to make a unique dress. Always searching for creative solutions for self-expression. Enamored by beauty and art. Even as a child, her room was meticulously organized and styled. By fourteen, she was styling for friends and family and consulting on shopping trips. She spent hours in their closets, reorganizing and creating new looks from what was already there. Some things don’t change. Apply some red lipstick, an impressive resume and more knowledge and experience, and you’ve got Kayla Dane, the professional. Kayla began her career as an assistant to a personal stylist and learned the skills of the industry: closet consulting, personal shopping and outfitting. Then, she worked for a luxury designer out of New York, where she was immersed in the world of high fashion and styling looks for clients, both in store and out.

Her mission was to always make the client experience great by finding what worked best for each person based on what they felt best in.

She eventually started working as a fashion consultant for one of the most notable high-end boutiques in Chicago. Kayla drew inspiration from the beautiful and cutting-edge collections the store carried, which you can see in her current work.

MEET KAYLA DANE Kayla also studied psychology in college. She understands that the closet can be a vulnerable and intimate setting. Letting go of clothes that no longer serve you can bring up complex emotions. Asking for help with your style can be intimidating. Organization can feel overwhelming, and sometimes people remain paralyzed in a nonproductive state because they’re so afraid of judgment. Kayla leans on her psychology knowledge to help navigate these tricky turns. “I AM DRIVEN BY THE DESIRE TO HELP PEOPLE. These aren’t like any closets you’ve seen before. Many existing closet systems aren’t functional for the client’s individual needs, much less aesthetically appealing. So she began building her own. Kayla doesn’t have a showroom because everything is custom built. You pick the materials, the colors, the details. The storage is built to fit the size of your favorite handbags, the length of your dresses, the height of your heels and so everything is easy to find. She then takes it to the next level by incorporating fine design elements: wallpaper, lighting, paint, rugs, drawer pulls, flowers, decorative accents, you name it.

The details make a house feel like a home. Kayla can curate all things luxury for your living spaces. She can select the perfect towels, the lushest sheets and beautiful soaps, and then present everything with a careful eye. She can set up bathtubs, stage bookcases, decorate seasonally, pick out artwork, stage a home for sale and craft table settings for a dinner party or just to make the room feel complete. Whatever your vision, whether simple and sweet or an elaborate project (she once transformed a rooftop patio to look like an Aspen ski chalet!), Kayla can bring it to life.

Just like no outfit is complete until it’s accessorized, the same goes for your house. Kayla specializes in tabletop design for all surfaces in the home: coffee tables, bookshelves, dining tables, fireplace mantles, countertops. She hand-selects the perfect books, candles, fragrance, flowers, blankets and finishing touches to bring the space to life. The little things make a big impact.

PERSONAL STYLING

Before making any closet improvements, Kayla first helps you go through everything in your closet to eliminate things that are no longer serving you, alter clothes as needed to fit properly and determine what pieces you need to complete your wardrobe. When it’s time to donate unneeded items, Kayla is connected with the Face Foundation’s Wag N’ Purr Shop that sells high-end clothes and accessories to help pets that need critical, lifesaving care.

Kayla can organize your clothes and accessories in a personalized lookbook that logs your wardrobe inventory to make it easy to put together on-demand suggestions of various outfits. All you have to do is wake up, step into your closet and step out looking put-together.
