Who Keeps Us Together? Meet Our Legal Assistant, Shantel Cabrales!

I n honor of Labor Day this September, I couldn’t think of a better topic to highlight in our newsletter than our very own Shantel Cabrales! In hindsight, this is a long- overdue honor for an employee — and friend — who has represented our firm in such a magnificent way.

our clients are facing. I know our clients appreciate her ability to answer any questions clearly and concisely. It makes this period of uncertainty and

transition easier for them. Because of this uncanny ability, I often receive a lot of praise from my clients about Shantel. Some even tell me that I don’t pay her enough for how dedicated she is! Just don’t tell her that! (I’m kidding, of course.) Beyond her professional abilities, one of the things that I admire the most about Shantel is her role as a mom. Shantel is a single parent to two preteen kids. From what I’ve seen, she is teaching them how to have a great work ethic. Her kids are so responsible! I don’t think there’s been a school break where we haven’t seen them put to work in our office. We’ve had the honor of watching her kids grow up right before our eyes and can see the impact Shantel has on them. She may be too humble to admit this, but I believe those kids are lucky to have a mom like Shantel.

“I don’t believe you’re ever going to meet someone with a better attitude than Shantel. She’s always smiling and ready to tackle whatever is coming next.”

Shantel has been working as a legal assistant at our firm for the past five years. I call her the nuts and bolts of our operation; she’s what holds us together and keeps our firm moving forward! She can often be found preparing files, meeting with clients, and helping with the day-to-day operations of our firm. With a hyper-focus on detail, she keeps Brandon and me organized, helping us move from one case to the next and communicating with the courts and clerks. She has friends in all of the courtrooms across the Mesa region. She knows just who to call when we need to schedule a last-minute hearing or need a judge to sign off on something.

If you’ve ever been to our office or called in, Shantel is likely the first person you met, and I can’t think of anyone else I want greeting clients as they first begin working with us. To top it off, I don’t believe you’re ever going to meet someone with a better attitude than Shantel. She’s always smiling and ready to tackle whatever is coming next. This attribute can be particularly helpful for family law, which is well-known to be stressful and emotional. Shantel has a knack for answering client questions in a professional manner while remaining empathetic to the major life changes

I’m honored to work with such a great mom and a loyal teammate every day. I’m not sure what we would do without Shantel keeping us on track and helping us build that important relationship with our clients, but I do know that in the time she has spent here, she has made our firm better with each day.

Thank you, Shantel!
