CREATING VALUE THROUGH PEOPLE Managing a business by looking at the financial results may not be healthy. It is like trying to coach a sports team during a game while keeping the eyes constantly on the scoreboard! Financial results are the outcome of excellence (or the lack of it) in the key processes, which produce the value that the customers pay for.

The real key is the ability to get the people of company sufficiently focused so that they can eagerly and willingly strive for high standards of performance.

The role of the leadership is to become the owner of all these values above. It is the leader’s job to inspire, support, praise, encourage, comfort, and at the same time when required, confront and critique. Successful leaders give their people individually and collectively the confidence that greater success, fulfilment, accomplishment, and eventually profits are indeed attainable, and spend their time and efforts to things that produce financial results. Creating value through people is the key to success.

I started in independent bars and restaurants, over time the properties got bigger and

 What do you enjoy most about your work?

Creativity behind food and beverage, especially when the both work together. I have high

expectations myself when I’m a guest, so I like the challenge of delivering better service What will

you be focusing on in the next few months? Turning Balcony Bar into a sophisticated bar concept

with a strong brand identity with high spending and pleasant guests. Getting Hoi An back on track

to be top of class and for both outlets they become more successful than ever before.

 Describe yourself in 3 words

 What are your hobbies?

Scuba diving, yoga, road cycling, fishing, skiing, snowboarding, ice hockey, trekking, mountain

biking, hopefully soon fencing and archery (all the above actively, not watching on TV) painting,

art & history (particularly Italian renaissance), and botany. And I love animals (minus birds and

monkeys )

 Any words of wisdoms?

I started working in independent bars and clubs in England and this led to my career in

hotels.

 What do you enjoy most about your work?

I enjoy meeting people and being creative with new promotions

Brining in new talented DJs/entertainment and introducing new concepts to I Kandy.

Beach, boxing, swimming anything outdoors and fun.

To the SLDB Family !

WELCOME HOME AWAY FROM HOME

Many of our colleagues who went on vacation got stuck in their home countries due to the COVID-19-related suspension of inbound passenger flights . HR team was in constant touch with them to check their well being.

As there is removal of suspension and colleagues who are vaccinated can return to UAE. It is a huge relief .

SLDB is excited to welcome our colleagues back and have made a boarding pass for them .

The boarding pass features the Shang assurance protocols so colleague's can refresh themselves with the standards.
